Well I just saw today that Bobby Portis won SEC POY. The kid has grown on me over the year. I had hoped he would maybe still be low on the radar and slip to the Clippers pick but no chance of that now. What are some of your opinions on him?

Any outside the top ten guys that you like a lot that people should look into?

+1 on Dakari Johnson.  I know nothing about this guy other than what I read.

He's a big dude but pretty slow. I can see him having problems on defending the high pick or just rotating in general on defense.

Guillermo Hernangomez should be a lock for Philly's second round pick. He is a great prospect, M. Gasol-Vu?evi? kind of center. If we use the first pick to draft a center, Hernangomez can be the 3rd string until he develops (he plays with Porzingis).

It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

Porzingis looks pretty quick here. I would give up a future Nets pick to move up to get him.

Brandone Francis was supposed to play for Florida Gators this year but due to the high school he went to, he wasn't cleared by the NCAA as academically eligible.

He's still enrolled at the school but he will have to complete 1 year before he can play.

Ya Porzingis really stole the show in that video, couldn't help just watching him. Didn't really see to much to get excited about Hernangomez though. The block he had would have just been him being beaten badly off the dribble in the NBA.

Might not be the sexiest pick but I'm starting to warm up to the idea of taking Bobby Portis. He can score, shoot, defend, and rebound. Effective post moves, mobile, athletic enough. Starting to think he might be severely undervalued in this draft.

(Great mix, shows everything not just the highlights)

Aleksandar Vezenkov - a 6'8" SF, plays in the Greek League (3rd best league after the NBA and Spain), averaging 18.5 ppg, 53.2 FG%, 43.2 3pt%, 7.9 RPG and he's only 19.  Should be going in the mid to late 30s, I really like him as a second rounder.  I'm more and more into people in the Greek and Spanish leagues in particular, there have been some very undervalued players coming out of both those leagues.  Lots of video on him too - he looks like a better prospect than most of guys in the 20s for sure.  I'm not a scout, but I really think he looks good.

Bobby Portis is another guy I've loved all season, so nice call on that.

I like George Lucas and Upshaw too, I think those guys could be great high ceiling lottery tickets with the Clips pick, although they could both flame out pretty easily.  I'd be kind of nervous bringing in Upshaw in terms of what he'd do to the locker room, but if he's our only "red flag" player, I think he could be kept in line.

Here here on Vezenkov. My favorite second round talent, IMO he's at least Mitch McGary and that's great value for where he should be picked.

No clue on Lucas, haven't seen a minute of his tape. Hear he really athletic so that's definitely intriguing.

Upshaw... hey if Danny thinks we can turn him into an effective NBA player then I'd be psyched. He's going to be taken lower than his talent dictates due to the off court issues but he's a legitimate shot blocking presence. Not an athletic guy that could provide some "rim protection", but a real warden of the painted area.

Vez will have to be a guy I look at then. I haven't heard much on him.

Side note seen some larger combo guards climbing the mocks lately.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
LeBryan Nash

He has tailed off coming from a top recruit to now probably not being considered as a draft candidate.

He's been playing well, good mid-range shot and has the size and athleticism to be a decent to good SF.

I want him.

I'm starting to not mind that we haven't fallen and tanked out

As a lot of the draft in our lotto area seems overrated guys like miles turner, Oubre should maybe take another year in college to develop but probably will be one and done as they are near locks in the lottery
They just seem underdeveloped and inconsistent

A lot of the late first round and top second round look like solid players
I like Christian wood, dakari Johnson, rondae Hollis jefferson, trey lyles, rashad Vaughn , guirellmo Hernangomez, mohamodou jaiteh, George Lucas

I don't like upshaw cuz of the drug problems
He failed drug tests
It seems a lot more risky taking him or even influencing other young players

Best to move on as there is still plenty of talent without that red flag available where he looks like he will picked
