We may get the Mavs pick this year

The Mavs have dropped 5 of their last 7 and with the team's chemistry declining and with players becoming disgruntled (rondo/ Sto, I can easily see us getting their pick and having 3 this year. Their remaining schedule is pretty tough and the Pelicans could make a run.

I'll check back in 2 games because right now the Pelicans are 4 games back from the Mavs with the Pelicans next 2 games against Denver and the Bucks while the Mavs are playing the Clippers and Thunder which are way better teams. So I expect NOP to only be 2 games back and the Mavs at the 8th seed. The pick seems like it could fall to us but what do you guys think??

4 games is a lot, but like you said let's check back in two.

Also, If the Mavs really are a a huge mess maybe it would benefit us to not get the pick this year and get a higher pick next year instead.

Cleveland beat them like a redheaded stepchild last night. The Pelicans are paying well. Maybe Phx will right the ship too. I can see it happening now for sure.

Mavs have no excuses.   They had their savior Parsons and Rondo as well , they had their Center and Dirk .   They got beat like a rented mule. 

Excuses are over .   They are down on young legs and talent.  Not contenders.

Dirk has admitted  he is not a star anymore  and can't carry the team with 35 points every game , just a good shooter and role player these days .

they have a brutal programm and i doubt that they can win more than 6-7 games till the end... the issue here is if the others can win more.... and i am not sure if their next year pick has more value

The Pelicans I think are the most likely team to make the final difference--and it would be ironic if the last C's win over them made the difference.

I'd be shocked if the Mavs miss the playoffs this year regardless of whatever struggles they are currently having.

The Pelicans are tied with the Thunder for 8th. Both teams are 4 games behind the Mavs.

Better off with the 14th pick this year then a late loto pick next season. 2015 draft is sold but not after the top 8 but it has alot of depth. 2016 looks good up top(maybe till #8) then really weak.

Not even a good shooter right now.  He's shot below 41% in 7 of their last 9 games.  And he's not getting to the line very much.   This is killing their offense,

I would love to see the Mavs miss the playoffs.

With Dirk struggling, aging and the Mavs having a non scoring center and point guard, the season looks questionable. They just don't seem to be jelling, except for their center, too many of the players are questionable defenders.

They just got tuned up by Cleveland as bad as we did.
