Montrezl Harrell - Good fit under CBS?

I love his heart and attitude and he'd be great in the locker room.
It just might be hard to justify taking him over some of the other guys available in our slot.
I think we are looking at a guy who's potenitial is some where between Faried's and Ben Wallace's potential.

He is incredibly strong and is only 5 pounds lighter than Ben Wallace was entering the NBA.
You'd just have to hope that he could be molded into a stretch 4 like Ibaka.
Interesting prospect considering the league is becoming  obsessed with small ball line ups and shooting. I think Harrell is a guy like Aaron Gordon for his position. Undersized but strong, fast and incredibly explosive + somewhat dominant on the defensive end.

 I like him but again it's gonna be a tough choice in that draft room.
I'd actually love to trade Kelly Olynyk for him if someone would take Olynyk+Philly picks for Harrell I'd be stoked.

The downside to Harrell is that he could be another Thomas Robinson that can't bully men in the NBA and becomes useless, no matter how strong their motor is.

Good points. But harrell is stonger , longer and more explosive than thomas. Has a better motor also

He is a walking "tommy point" machine. 

The ben wallace comparison are decent. He likely wont be as good of a rebounder.  Harrell is like pf version of smart/crowder but has the explosivness and length /above rim play this team can use.  Harrell, crowder , smart , ab = strong team defensive/small ball lineup

Harrell is a solid player but i see him more on the bench like a Robinson type guy or JJ Hickson

he is undersized and hasnt really improved from last year

he looks like a good energy guy but i wouldnt want to get him with a lottery pick, he would probably go in the mid first round

also i wouldnt mind trading olynyk and philly picks for harrell

I thought that Harrell struggled against Kentucky's elite interior size and defense which is similar to what he will have to deal with in the NBA. He seems to be a hardworking, useful player but not really the kind of player that we would want to take with our own 1st round pick. If he slides to our Clippers pick, maybe, but I wouldn't. I'm not a big fan of 6'8" power forwards.

We can only move up to picks 1-3 or be pushed down by some other team behind us who leaps over us into the top three picks as a result of the lottery.  There's a table under the heading "Process" here that shows the odds:

It was almost Harrell vs wcs/towns/johnson/lee.  What can you do?  We have seen what harrell can do playing with a legit college pf/c like Dieng

In that case why wouldn't you draft a legit Dieng or WCS type rather an undersized Harrell type?
I just don't see the need for him.  The Celtics have a ton of 4 types.  Our only real 5 is Zeller, and he would look better as a backup.  Just not seeing Harrell as filling a need.  He wouldn't even be an upgrade over Sullinger.

I would take WCS over Harell. But if ever WCS already got picked before him, Harrell is my second choice.

Watching the draft express video of Harrell I'm changing my tune a little bit.

Previously I thought he would struggle to guard on the perimeter, but after watching him play perimeter defense in the draft express video I think there are fundamental fixes (become more flexible and improve knee bend to increase lateral quickness) he could make that would allow him to be the type of defender who can switch and guard multiple positions.

I think he will go right before the Clippers pick, and I wouldn't be upset if they used one of their second rounders to move up a couple spots and grab him.

I'd be happy with Harrell. May be a little undersized his wingspan is huge. Doesn't take games off either. Not going to get out hustled.

probably, if you're saying right now, Crowder is probably our best shooter. I guess with the defensive trio of Harrell, Smart and Crowder, I guess opposing team's defense would probably rest on us. Probably would add some pressure to IT if he is on the floor as he is the only capable scorer in that group. I hope we can get a 2nd scorer next to IT, and hopefully Smart's offense improve a bit more next year

It would be so Danny Ainge to draft Kevon Looney and Montrezl Harrell and then take a flier on one or both of the Harrisons.
