I have no confidence that Cincy will get past their first playoff opponent so even if Cincy ends up as the #1 seed I still see the Pats having a couple home games in the playoffs. A couple to few losses isn't going to really hurt this team

You think the Steelers, Jets, or Raiders are gonna get to Dalton in the playoffs despite nobody doing that in the regular season so far?  Or perhaps the Broncos will manage to win a game at home and then go to Cincy after Wild Card weekend.  They might get to Dalton, but I don't think Peyton has enough left to beat the Bengals in Cincy.

The playoffs are a different game, and Dalton and the Bengals have a bad track record there, but the teams I just mentioned aren't exactly intimidating opponents.

With all the injuries the Pats have suffered I think Cincinati is the clear favorite in the AFC. At this point teams can just double/triple Gronk and then the Pats will have to rely on LaFell, Amendola to get yards. I'm not really a believer in Blount being able to take over a game behind a banged up line.

I do reserve the right to change my mind if Dalton comes out tonight and can't do anything because he has a panic attack during prime time games.

DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Remember when the Patriots beat the Jets 45-3 in the regular season and then got embarrassed by them in Foxborough just a few months later in the playoffs?

Peyton Manning couldn't beat a Chargers team that had a hobbled LT and hobbled Phillip Rivers and at home in the 2007 post-season. The stakes change in the playoffs no matter what happens in the regular season. Dalton has impressed me, but until he has shown that he's over his playoff woes, I'll remain skeptical.

I reserve my right to be skeptical of Cincy until they show they can protect Dalton, and Dalton can maintain his composure, when things get tougher and tighter in the playoffs.

The Bengals certainly seem like the biggest threat to the Pats in the AFC, though even without Le'veon Bell it seems like the Steelers' offense might be explosive enough to put up a bunch of points against the Pats.

Praying that we get some good news on the injury front for next week and that Collins, Cannon, Vollmer, and Keshawn can play.

Keshawn actually looked good in his limited reps with the Patriots and with Edelman out until the playoffs we need a WR3 and I have 0 faith in Dobson.

Dalton has shown a great propensity to fold in big games. Of course, he had also shown a propensity to throw a ton of picks, and that hasn't happened this season, either.

I think Pittsburgh would be a real threat to take down Cincy.  Heck, I think PIT would be a bigger threat in the AFC than Denver also.

I still like Dobson. He came in last game out of necessity and Brady threw to him 3 times on the final drive. I think the issue with Dobson is that Brady struggles throwing deep and Dobson is best at getting behind defenses. That being said Dobson has done a good job stepping in when called on to make some plays. He is our most athletic reciever is love to see him and Brady build some more chemistry

Yes. I have no faith in Dalton, Cincy or their coach to show up big when the stakes are their highest.

The Patriots injury woes (as it pertains to their long term success) is somewhat overblown.  Vollmer, Cannon, and Collins will all be back, potentially as early as this week.  With Vollmer and Cannon back at tackle and some mix of Stork, Andrews, Jackson, and Mason at the center and guards spots, the offensive line again becomes a strength of the team.

That in itself should make the loss of Lewis and Edelman look far less terrible than it looked this past week, when we had a guy from the practice squad playing LT and last year's starting center playing RT.  That should not be underestimated.  If you look at Brady's two fumbles and his near interception at the end, none of those things happen if the line that will be there at the end of the season is there.  And if those things don't happen, the Patriots handily beat the Giants and there's no doom and gloom.

And also, if Julian Edelman's prognosis is 4-8 weeks, I find it pretty unfathomable he won't be ready for a playoff game that would be the weekend of January 16-17, which is 9 weeks away.  The guy is a beast and I'm sure will be rehabbing like crazy.

I think Cincy's D is certainly be feared.  It's also the type of defense that has been known to give Brady fits in the past (i.e. interior pass rush with a legit secondary that can cover).    The real question would be how their offense would fare.

If that game is played at Paul Brown, its no cakewalk.

So I just want to get this straight: Manziel's girlfriend says he beat her. The police smelled alcohol but let him go. He admitted to drinking. And the NFL says, "Based on the information gathered, we have concluded that there is an insufficient basis on which to take disciplinary action."

Yet somehow, it was "more probable than not" that Brady let some air out of a football and got four games? Just wanted to make sure.

Quote
No charges were filed against Manziel following the Oct. 12 incident, in which witnesses reported him driving dangerously on an interstate highway. His girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, said he had beaten her in the car and pushed her head against the glass, but she later declined to press charges.

After questioning both Manziel and Crowley, police in Avon, Ohio, allowed the couple to leave together to go to Manziel's home. Police smelled alcohol on Manziel's breath but did not give him a field sobriety test because he showed no signs of inebriation, police said.
The NFL's ruling on Johnny Manziel came the day the Browns named him starter for the rest of the season. Charles LeClaire/USA TODAY Sports

Manziel admitted to having a couple drinks downtown on the Browns' off-day. He had spent 10 weeks in a treatment facility in the offseason.

Callers to 911 on Oct. 12 reported Manziel driving at a high rate of speed on the shoulder of the highway. Witnesses told police Crowley had attempted to jump out of the moving car as it exited the highway. A 911 caller also said Manziel cut across several lanes of traffic to exit.

To quote Katie Nolan, what matters to you? It's obvious violence against women doesn't really matter to the NFL.

Didn't strike much fear in him last year.

Agreed, but Brady can still rifle it, unless he is about to get hit, which is why his deep balls vs. Giants were lame.
