Yeah, so I wanted to know if anyone felt DIFFERENTLY, I agree Isiah is the better of the pair. It wasn't a forum to rip apart the question. I was just asking, trying to start some dialogue. Jeez. With fans like you who needs enemies. G.F.Y.
Hey man the response was pretty harsh, but don't take anything personally here.
I think the main reason you're getting these replies is because there is simply no contest between a hall of famer and a super undersized (although very good) fringe starter/6th man on most contenders. The question is a bit of a 'duurrrrrp' question because no one in their right mind is going to say Isaiah Thomas of the Celtics will end up the better of the two in the history books say 25 years from now.
To answer your question seriously, just look at the defensive side of the ball. The Pistons IT was a defensive nightmare and the Celtics IT doesn't come close to be comparable- although he does put in effort on the defensive end. The Pistons version went against Larry Bird, McHale, Magic Johnson, Kareem, Worthy...ie some of the greats. At age 23 he was averaging 21 points 14 assists and 2 steals per game- a true NBA colossus who averaged 19 points and 9 rebounds for his 12 year career.
Anyway, don't be put off, some of the Celticsblog posters like to have fun behind their keyboards but at the end of the day you obviously love the team as much as all of us.
We finally have a go to scorer- even if he is a midget.
He can also teach our young guys how to lead and thrive through adversity because this mofo has serious game and has obviously had to go through a lot to get where he is at 5'9".
I don't think our IT will ever be on the same level as the great Pistons IT, but our IT sure does have a lot of heart.
If you want to see something cool on our IT then check out all the parts in this little documentary on his life leading to the NBA>>>
TP for putting up with the jokesters here too...your posts and discussion points are always welcome here as a Celtics fan.
