I know this was brought up about Noel as well.

For Noel I wouldn't do it, but for Embiid I would think long and hard he could end up being a legit center in the league.

Then again, he could also become a bust with his injury history.

Thoughts?

And would Philly even consider such a thing?

if he passes a physical, then probably.  the concern is what else Philly wants with the pick.  I wouldn't mortgage the farm for him without having seen him play one game in the league

In befor the sixer fan RAAAANDDDY , says their is no shot the sixers would. I don't think the Sixers would either, top 3 take Okafor or Towns.

Depending how the draft shapes up, young talent with upside could become available.  A fair amount of the potential lottery teams have their "Center of the Future" already.

Minnesota-G.Dieng
Philadelphia-J.Embiid/N.Noel
Orlando-N.Vucevic
Sacramento-D.Cousins
Detroit-A.Drummond
Utah-D.Favors/R.Gobert
Indiana-R.Hibbert

With top prospects in the 2015 draft like J.Okafor, K.Towns, and W.Cauley-Stein, what happens if the teams above end up in a draft position where one of these Center prospects is the Best Available Player?  Does Okafor, Towns, or Cauley-Stein slip down the draft board?  Or maybe one of the above Centers becomes "available".  Or the pick becomes "available".  With our cupboard stocked with draft picks, we could be in position to either move up, or trade for one of these guys who's already in the league.  Say Philly gets the top pick and falls in love with Okafor, maybe Embiid becomes available.  If that happens, I would jump on Embiid.

Sort of along the same lines, what about J.Parker?  If Milwaukee goes on a nice run down the stretch and continues to be better than anyone thought, and if the Greek Freak continues to look like a beast, is Parker expendable?

Just some thoughts.

Mock Deadline Denver Nuggets
Nurcic/Henson
Patterson/Bennett/Arthur
Ross/Budinger
Miller/Hunter/Foye
Rubio/Ennis/Bayless

If Embiid checks out medically, I'd trade multiple 1sts for him.  I think he has more potential than Okafor or anyone in the past 2 drafts.  His development in less than a year at Kansas was remarkable.

Why would Milwaukee do that?  The Greek Freak and Parker were a good starting combo before Parker got injured.

Of the teams you listed, I think Minnesota and Utah are our best hopes since their existing centers would be easier to get.  Hibbert has a player option so trading for him makes no sense.  If I could get anyone you listed, it would be Embiid.

It sounds like sixers were attempting to trade embiid and others pre trade deadline for top picks in lottery. Already giving up on him or they view this draft with better players? Maybe Pitino is their secret advisor.

Embiid is better than anyone in this draft, including Okafor, as far as upside, so of course I would.  No way Philly would give him up though.

LOL. Fair.

To be honest I probably wouldn't if I was either side.

If the Sixers traded him for that it would be an ominous signal about his injury/development.

But if I'm the Sixers and he's healthy there's no way I do it unless Boston wins the lottery and the Sixers like Okafor more. Personally I don't think given their preference for big men who can protect the rim that they'd prefer Okafor over Embiid.

That can't be true.  To even think about trading Embiid right after bailing on MCW is to publicly admit you have no idea what you are doing.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. You can't "trade up" in the draft before the lottery has even happened.

Forbes also apparently can't count as they described a summer interview with Harris as "two years ago" and considering that Sam Hinkie hasn't even been a GM for 2 years I can't really see how they're going to continually hammer that point.

To be honest, I'm not really sure what that argument this article is even trying to make. Seems like fodder for a Fire Joe Morgan article more than any sort of actual analysis.

And there haven't been credible rumors about Embiid or Noel. Heck, Hinkie denied Noel would go anywhere when he was on local radio talking about packaging him in the draft 2 days ago which is something he doesn't do very often. Every player obviously has a price, but I think those two would require Godfather offers to go anywhere.

Reading this idiot's bio tells me everything I need to know about what a hack he is:

Classic over the hill moron lamenting the decline of the mid range jump shot and grown men wearing short shorts.

From what I understand, he's a better prospect than anyone in the upcoming draft.  A lot of experts felt he should have gone #1 regardless of his injury.  He has all-world potential.
