Hypothetically, if there wasn't a rim protector left when we pick, would you trade it to Philly for Nerlens? He seems to be the most attainable "rim-protector" and PHI would still be able to grab a SF, which yes we do need but a defensive 5 would help so much more.

Thoughts?

I assumed it would take more than that I was hoping people would say what they would be willing to give up.

Sullinger + pick?

Olynyk + pick?

Bradley + pick?

Yeah. I'll trade our pick along with the Clippers to get it done. I wasn't really big on Noel before this season but he looks like he'll be a great player for years to come. Such a unique player
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I think it's safe to view Noel as almost completely unattainable.

Noel's 20 and having a very good year. He's shown no indication that his ceiling as a DPOY type of dominant defender is out of the question.

And, Hinkie has shown repeatedly that he values guys with that kind of ceiling - or top 5 picks, which can yield that kind of talent - almost to the exclusion of any other asset. Witness the MCW trade.

Unfortunately for us, we possess no such asset. Our picks, even our own, are very unlikely to be top 5. I suppose you could make a case for Smart having DPOY-type defensive talent too, but I don't know why anyone would swap big for small when you're talking about defensive specialists.

I wouldn't be surprised if an offer of our 1st, the Clips 1st and Sully for Noel would be rejected by the 76ers.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
If we can get Willie Cauley Stein. I say no. But if not I would give up both are 2015 picks for Noel.
He is a specail talent for sure and a winning culture will do him great.

I'd rather include the pick in a trade for another player
(Faried, Melo, Cousins, Horford, etc.)

Besides, from what I've seen from Noel, I am not impressed though he just needs more time to get better.

I would trade Olynyk for Noel

Maybe I would deal our 1st rounder for Embiid, depending on how healthy he is.

If we're picking in 7th or so, I suspect Hinkie would take this deal without a second thought. Would be more questionable if we were picking in the teens.

Great words from a great man

There's no way the Sixers would do that deal.

Some of you guys are tripping. Noel is legit.  Getting potentially dominant defensive centers isn't easy.  Noel is going to finish this season averaging something like 10 points 8 rebounds 2 blocks and 2 steals ... Considering he's coming off a major injury and 20 years old, it will take a lot.

If we end up with a top 5 pick and they land Okafor, they might consider it.

If we are picking 7-12, I think you will need to include sully or oly.

It would likely take Sully and the draft pick (since sully will have to be resigned soon).
