Are we overrating him a bit? I get if the intention is to lose games he's doing a good job of that but I can't help but watching these games and thinking to myself well that was pretty stupid.  I get we are young and trying to gain experience too but even still I'm smart enough to see bs when I see it.  Evan Turner is running the point.  Marcus Smart rarely touches the ball.  OUr rotations and lineups leave a lot to be desired.  Teams go on runs and there is a total failure to call timeouts and regroup.  Players are playing out of position.  The scheme's and direction are good I guess though.  These still are the Celtics.  I don't know what it is with the nba now but for some reason I think Red Auerbach would be rolling in his grave a bit.  Tommy Heinsohn already is.... NBA players get paid a lot of money now.  It's about getting the best players and everything.  But aren't there better ways to build something than just tanking purposely?   As a Celtics fan I find this stuff somewhat disappointing.

Maybe players and coaches and people really are this dumb now but tis a shame imo.... We are becoming like every other team out there.

At least Tyler Zeller and Avery Bradley showed up and played hard.

Thing is I get when we get the right pieces we will start doing the right things and everything.  At least that is my hope. This is a rebuilding year and we are learning...  But even still STevens as far as what he's doing out there this year a lot of the time makes absolutely no sense.  I get  the schemes and everything too and what he's trying to get these guys to do.  But stuff he does sometimes is like he just doesn't care if we win the game or not or even play the right way.

I get its about next year and suddenly all these pieces will fit and we'll start doing that. But this year not so much.

We're building character.  Guys need to step up. Or we are just taking it easy with some guys.  It's ridiculous.

It wasn't a reply I was just expanding on it.   I've listened enough how Stevens is a great coach and can do no wrong.  He needs some fire or something..  I like him and all but watching marcus rarely touch the ball and him leaving in KO as he gets torched endlessly grows tiring.

At this  point we can hope STevens becomes this genius coach we all think he is.

It's building character or whatever it is.  Sully gets sick of it and walks out but has to stick with it.  That's all I can hope for at this point.

I'm not sure what you expect from Stevens. I think Stevens has made some mistakes but I also recognize he's done some nice things and I see development from some of the young players. I also recognize that's he's been dealt and extremely difficult hand that past 1.5 years. I read a stat the other day on twitter that said he's coached 47 players during his time here. That's insane. Overall, I think he has done a fine job all things considered.

He got a mid-major twice the NCAA finals.   He coaches in the NBA, one of its most storied franchises.  I think it is safe to say that is more than you will achieve as a coach.

Most coaches would still be having guys play hard in this kind of season.  If anything he has over-achieved this season with our talent level.

GM acquire assets and CBS does not have the final say in best players, Ainge does and that is his job.

Which is why we have an edit or modify post button, so you don't have to respond to your own post.  Nice try but I call BS!

I think he's improved significantly over the past year. Let's give him a few more years and see where he's at.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I feel Stevens, like most coaches, have there own individual style of coaching. He just isn't a yelling, screaming, overly emotional, demeaning type of coach, he's a keep the ship steady and on course, with intelligent, and uncomplicated positive corrections, so these players can learn.

This team, as it's now constructed, isn't really equip to be pushed towards perfection. They are still very young and too inexperienced. Meaning...they're not going anywhere. He's kind of the best coach we could have for the players we have.
Later when we accumulate some veteran talent and are a serious contending team, we'll see just how smart he is.
To me he comes off as very bright.

He probably would have a very decent record if Danny wasn't planning so much for the future.

Imagine if Danny kept Courtney Lee who had the highest shooting percentage-wise before he left. Somehow managed to resign Humphrey's...again the highest shooting percentage player.  (Someone in this group did a great job explaining why that wasn't possible.)  And, at the trade deadline, he sent the most dependable shooters out the door.  The team was doing quite well before their departure.

Thus, how can one question Stevens' coaching when some of the better talent is being shipped out?  I'm not criticizing Danny (except for the Lee move).  He's planning for the future and these moves have been good ones.  On a side note, Stevens has probably been asked to keep playing Young in hopes he starts playing like he did in the D-League.  Thus, there may be contradictory goals going on here.
