Ainge was interested in Datome before he signed with Detroit.

Jerebko and Datome, presumably.

This gets better and better - instead of buying out Prince and paying some of his salary for no gain, we get some kind of minor asset, save the salary, and Prince gets to go back to Detroit for a playoff push.  No game-changer but good stuff.

EDIT: Jerebko + Datome, eh?  Don't really know enough to have a strong opinion, I remember Jerebko had a decent year before his major injury, but that was a while ago.

Jerebko is an interesting pickup. Can play the 3/4. Maybe he gets Tayshaun's minutes.

Would be shocked if Datome isn't released.

I like this. Saves some money, and Jerebko is actually a nice stretch four to have. Datome isn't that good and is bench filler, likely waived.

I don't see it. Ainge seemed very interested in Datome, and at one point was close to bringing him in until he balked at the high asking price Datome was requesting.

And who are those?  ;D I've seen they play but they didn't leave an impression.

But don't worry, we'll have a place for them in the deep bench.
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

Celtics are sort of under the salary cap at this point.  (Depending on buyouts and which MLE they used on Evan Turner, etc).  But currently they've got a shade under $62 million in salary (going to 21 players!) counting against the cap.  In actuality this means nothing, but an impressive job of salary purging by Ainge, considering wins haven't suffered and draft picks have generally increased.
