I think any team that gives up tangible assets for the likes of Brandon Bass, Marcus Thornton and Tayshaun Prince is stupid as hell.  I mean... MAYBE a team would give up a 2nd rounder for Bass, but beyond that, you'd have to be pretty stupid to give up pieces for guys that will likely be bought out in a week.

There are stupid GMs out there, though... so who knows.

I don't expect Boston to be involved in anything beyond maybe picking up 2nds as a facilitator.  Should be an interesting trade deadline nonetheless.

Prince can be a strong part of a rebuild. I'd guesstimate, based on his stature, that he has 15 years of 35mpg left in him.

No... we're talking about TAYSHAUN Prince.  You're confused.

Oh wait... maybe you were thinking Fresh Prince.

Better shot of getting a 2nd for either of them.

I don't think it's unreasonable.

Lets be fair, out of tge 30 or so second rounders in every draft,  how many of those ever develop into a starting calibre player...or even a 6th man?

Id say maybe 2 or 3 at best.   If you manage to get E'Twaun Moore out of a 2nd round pick,  then you've done pretty well.

Bass is legitimately capable of contributing as a starter on a playoff team - he did it for us, and he's improved significantly since then.   Prince was already contributing as a starter for Memphis, who were doing pretty well with him in that role.  Thornton isn't really a starting calibre guy,  but I could see him being a major impact player on a playoff team that needs that little extra scoring punch off the bench.   He's often compared to Bayless and Jordan Crawford, but he's a far better player than both of those guys and much less of a head case.  He's actually been one of my favourite players on this Celtics squad - always plays hard and on many nights he's been our best scorer.

I think if you're a veteran tab trying to make a playoff push,  every one of those three guys is more valuable taverns a second rounder. Especially since they all expire next year too.

I'll bet any number of TPs that Ainge is involved in at least one trade tomorrow.

I agree, I believe the C's will become the third team needed to get a deal done.

I agree with much of what you say.  Can't understand why there isn't more love for Marcus in this group.  From what I've seen he's been the heart of most our wins.

Yup.  I don't expect a blockbuster, but, at a minimum, Danny will be a facilitator today.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Agreed but I'm actually starting to think IT could be a Celtic, starting to think PHX  holds Dragic and trades him and it's pretty well documented how much the C's value him... could probably get him for pennies

I wish Danny at least tries to sell Prince to all the Wilson Chandler takers.

2 1st rounders!!! For a solid starter but nothing more. Denver are seriously setting a high price there.
