not to detract from roles of turner and smart but turner is irratic with his passing and smart is a rookie.Zellers  stats are still good but with a real penetrating point guard where would he be.The 2nd half of season should have zeller taking that open shot and maybe with some consistency of passes his flip hook already deadly would become more so,he runs the court ,plays good d with really at times no help from a big athletic defender.Zeller gives danny some options.Howmuch better could zeller get with a summer working out ,a point guard and a quick athletic power forward or just some consistent teamatesTommy H sees it,they say centers take time,he's been bounced around and is still young. What is Zellers ceiling, does he need a crazy haircut and tattoos .Myself, i'll take that right hand or left flip hook anyday

He still looks awfully slight and weak against the big guys of the league, and can't effectively guard out to the 3. So he's no long-term starter for the C's.

have to agree he started the season looking heavier and maybe pumped up  but does look much slimmer.I did put that he gives danny options and i see him long term on the celts as a valuable ,durable piece of a celtics team. With the pace of todays games you need two centers.

I think he dropped some of the weight on purpose when he started slowly in the preseason and earlier games.

Just let Zeller play 30 minutes a game and he will produce...Period...And teach the other players to pass him the ball...

He was a steal from the cavs

But let's not get ahead of ourselves
He's not a rim protecting big that is needed for the c's to win it all

brad stevens and ainge know the value of Zeller, his consistency ,his work ethic and character on/off court, when we do get this rim protector the combination should be quite effective because zeller would then become an elite 2nd team center. So zeller is a long term asset, that gives danny options from draft to free agency and trades-cavaliers traded two firsts for mozgov, he looked awful strong against miami-willie -cauley stein would be my draft pick as he fits in boston from coaching to city and marcus, crowder zeller and bradely make for good teamates--

Zeller needs to shoot threes.

The NBA today is all about the three.

Zeller is a nice surprise, but hardly the answer in the post. His best bet is stretching his game out and learning to play and defend the 4, so he can play 4 and 5.
I agree, he's a nice guy to have around as a backup center.

Yeah, they tried that and ultimately had to dock him from the starting lineup. Also, passing him the ball will not make him play defense or rebound any better.

It was more about showcasing Brandon Bass for a potential trade. When the trading deadline passes, hopefully Zeller goes back in the starting lineup.

Yeah... no, it wasn't. It was on the tail end of a pretty miserable streak when it became clear he was starting to be a detriment to the team. It's not related to Brandon Bass. You don't need to tell the league who Brandon Bass is.

Zeller was doing pretty good last night in the post. And it was against Cousins.

I would like to see him add more muscle as he was getting pushed out of position on almost every possession on defense. Cousins was just man handling him for those rebounds.

cousins does that to almost everybody-zeller played decent d first half-but you are right but just imagine zeller  thomas connection-with thomas a shoot first  vs rondo zeller should be even more open when he does get the ball-
