Guess it depends on price. As the article points out cap space will be plentiful for a bunch of teams. Taking on trades for expirings maybe best way to use it. Cs still have their Rondo TE to burn as well which fits Ty Lawson. Now if they also take on Faried and Gali it would mean a big playoff push but I think it's Lawson and Gali pure salary dump.

Lawson and Gali for TPE, Thornton, Pressey, Clippers 1st, Philly 1st*.

Bigger unlikely trade
Lawson, Faried, Gali for
Wallace, Bass, Pressey, TPE, Cs 2015 1st, Clippers 1st, Dallas 1st, Philly 1st*, Cavs 1st.

Would be a nice playoff team with
Lawson/Smart
AB/Turner/Thornton/Young
Crowder/Prince/Gali
Faried/KO
Sully/Zeller

How about we go big

Celts get: Lawson, Faried and Afflalo
Nuggets get: Bradley, Turner, Bass, Thornton and 2 1st rounders.
Add Sullinger. Drop Afflalo. Keep the expiring contracts, they are really not necessary, since we can absorb the incoming trade with our TEs.

I would do Avery Bradley, Evan Turner, and two seconds for Ty Lawson.  Would you, would they?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m6lm249

We're not getting Lawson without giving up at least one first rounder, maybe two. Two seconds? Come on now. Denver hung on to Mozgov until two firsts cam about.

I'm not really sure what would interest us about Lawson though. A solid PG under a hefty contract for a few years. Sure he playing great basketball but how he helps a rebuild I am not sure of. But hey, I'd take him.

You are probably right, but I don't think he is worth "at least one first rounder" in addition to those players, I would stick with the 2 seconds.  Lawson is 40th in the NBA in VORP at 1.7 (.1 higher than Sully) and is the 13th highest point guard in VORP this season.  He had a 3.6 OBPM which is good for 11th highest point guard and 22 overall, his DBPM is a -2.0 which is 371st overall and 58th overall for point guard.  Factoring in his contract and recent arrest for OUI, I would not budge and offer them Bradley, Turner, 2 seconds and if they turn it down we save our chips for a future deal.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Lawson is intriguing. If you combine this with the Kanter rumor, we could land our starting PG and Center in a week or so. I don't see Smart as our PG of the future, he's a SG. Bradley is a bench player and I would be glad to move him.

I can see Ainge getting a guy like Lawson here and maybe someone else to entice players like Marc Gasol this summer.

Sounds like Ainge wants to avoid a full rebuild via high draft picks. More of a retooling process. Trying to build and win at the same time. That Ainge believes this roster has too much talent on it already to bottom out and that he would rather keep that talent and go forward than trade some pieces away and bottom out.

Similar to Morey's rebuild in Houston.

Lawson is one of my favorites in 2K so this would be pretty sweet.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

I would love to have Lawson. I can't imagine why Denver is looking to move him unless they are basically trying to get rid of everyone but Nurkic in an epic blow-up. That organization has made some really dumb moves in the last few years.

If it's low first I wouldn't mind. Since AB is salary moved for salary. Believe Pressey and AB is enough salary. But if they want Gali salary dump C's can't give up two first can they?

I would do that in a second and I will drive AB to Logan.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

There has to be something else.  Thought we had our PG of the future in Smart.  I'm confused.  In Danny I trust, In Danny I trust.....

I don't really understand why we would want Lawson.

Danny, get us a center!
I think it's about price. Lawson is a buy low player right now. Plus have to think about next year. Thornton, Prince, Pressey, and Crowder are all FAs or players in question. Having Lawson allows Turner to play SF more and Smart to play SG if you lose all 4 guys.

16.9 pts, 10 assists, 1.3 steals
Lawson is a quality PG.  I really don't understand why anyone wouldn't want him.  Smart will get plenty of minutes at SG and backup PG.  He could take over the role that AB has now.

I just have to say, why are we trading for all the "key players" of a team that's never been .500 since they've been together?
This is my issue with trade ideas on here. We're always trying to trade for another team's entire core, even if they've proven they're a bad team
