In honor of the activities this weekend...

Out of the "Young Pups" we have here...who becomes an All Star first?

1.Sullinger (Double Double)
2.Olynyk (7ft Point Center)
3.Smart (3 and Great D)
4.Young (Mr. Shooter)

I think it's Smart...but I'm biased because he plays great defense.

When you consider a guy like Big Al has never been an All Star is hard see Sully making that jump. guards have an easier go of it, so I'd say Smart too, but they're all a ways away.
Yup

Most likely none of them.

I'd say Smart has a shot, because he's such an unknown, but I think he'll more end up being a solid starter.  I mean... he's averaging 6 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists right now... not exactly showing star potential.  Gotta realize that guys like Tyreke Evans averaged 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and even he never made an all-star team.   Smart has a LOOONG way to go before he's even considered a lock as a starter.

Smart is going to get the most minutes, can hit the three and although he's not really scoring on drives, he did average 10 fta per game in college.  I think he can easily get to 15-8-6 in a season or two and from there, he can theoretically get to all-star number status.  The others I just don't see.  Maybe Olynyk as a 6th man

KO.

He's the only one (in my opinion) who theoretically has a chance to become a 20+ppg scorer one day.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

If someone captured Sully and whipped him into real shape, I mean solid condition... like a real 245-248 lb. or so, you could see him being an all-star, averaging 18 to 20 ppg 10 reb. and 4 assists. He's developing a go to guy attitude. His speed, quickness, and stamina would really improve.

But alas Sully will not be captured.

Next choice is James Young, but way too early to even think about it.

Respectfully disagree. Don't see him as an all-star.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

I hope for the best with Smart, but he could end up being our Randy Foye or Rodney Stuckey... a highly touted guard prospect the fanbase falls in love with and proceeds to greatly overreact to every positive thing seen on the court.  We'll see what happens.  He's shooting 36% with some pretty garbage stats.  He show signs and probably has the best chance of any player on the Celtics to reach stardom... but that's mostly because of how mediocre our roster is.

I'll say that I don't think anybody on the team right now is going to be an All-Star as the leader of the team.

Making an All-Star team depends a lot on context.  Big Al has never made a team because he's always the clear cut best player on his own team.  Kyle Korver made it this year because he has three other really talented teammates.

I could see Sullinger one day making a team if he ends up playing next to a couple of stars who make his job really easy.  I could see Smart making it, too, if he ever gets to lead the offense of a team brimming with offensive talent.  Olynyk, if he develops well, could make it in as a high-scoring stretch big playing off some premier offensive threats.

Chances are none of them ever gets in, though.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
