Everyone rematch this. THIS AB was amazing. I believe in the playoffs he will go back to this defensive stopper.

Make the playoffs, get Smart and Young some experience. Lets make the 8th seed and give the Hawks everything we got! We'll show free agents what its like to be a Celtic. Demonstrate Celtic Pride and even if we go down, we'll go down with a fight!

thing is, why isn't AB like that now?  Rondo took a lot of heat for not playing the D he was capable of but was allowed some slack because he did so many other positive things.  AB doesn't bring that all-around game that Rondo does.  I'm not anticipating much improvement in AB's play if the team makes the playoffs

That was, I believe, the series that saw Bradley get repeatedly burned by Raymond Felton.

That footage is the only video from any Celtics loss that I can actually watch and enjoy.

Man, I remember that game. That place was popping! Such a disappointing end to a disappointing season.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Yes - this is the series that Raymond Felton absolutely destroyed AB.  For some reason AB couldn't stay in front of him, he played a nice stretch in the elimination game but the rest of the series was forgettable for him...

Yeah, if you get the AB that played in the 7 minute stretch, but what about the AB that played in the rest of that series, the one who shot 40% from the field, 25% from deep, had a PER of 6.7, a net rating of -20, and made Raymond Fatty Felton look like an all-star.

I don't think anyone is giving up on Avery. He's part of the future of this team, I just don't think he should or will be a starter very much longer if he doesn't expand his game. He's too small, too limited of a game, not consistent enough. He has quickness, except he doesn't dribble the ball well. He has no other shot except the jump shot. He's not a good passer at all. He's is a spot up jump shooter that defends well.

But, I will say this, he's a worker, I wouldn't be surprised if he got a little better every year. I believe he is a character guy.

He would be a nice guy off the bench as a shooter/defender to do a "heat check" on, and play hard defense for 18-22 minutes a game. Nothing wrong with that.

Felton was average for that series.

He has to get very consistent to earn a starting role with the Celtics ...in their future .....as better players are drafted or traded for ......AB could get pushed to the bench

Thorton is better than Bradley.

AB can be a pit bull on defence. After the rebuild he might not be a starter but I believe he is part of the future and I have no problem with him starting. In the post big three/Rondo period he has done some very good things and shown leadership. Even if inconsistent I doubt he has ever stopped even trying on D like Rondo.

Good for the team now, good for the team in the future. Rather he is playing with the Celtics than against them.

I like Bradley but he does not have much upside

He hustles well on defence and is solid at catch and shooting as well as driving it in

However he still has problems defensively against bigger 2 guards like Kobe

I remember the ny series he was getting torched by Felton but he still hustled on defence and was our energiser on defence on a team that had KG
