Cousins isn't any more competitive than the average player.  He just whines more.  Half of the players in the league are on bad teams.  Gods plan.

Half the players in the league aren't averaging 24/12/3 and who have substantially improved their game in every way over the last 4 years.
99% of the players aren't as talented.

I'll occasionally catch the Kings on TV, but I don't watch them very often: if Roy says he's playing his ass off and you say he's mailing it in, who am I to believe?

I put very little stock in estimations of effort as a rule (since I find them notoriously unreliable), but who would you rate as better than DMC right now?

I am not rating anyone better than him, I am just saying he is only beginning to scratch the surface of his talent and is just doesn't even try all the time.  You really can't find a measure of effort other than estimation.   But no one plays 100% all of the time, and most guys do even half of the time.  Watch guys with verticals, they do not jump max jump each time they leap.  Not even Russell or Bird did, folks.  Only guys who never played ball think guys go 100% all the time.  My comment was not meant as a detriment to him, in a way, it makes him that much more impressive.

I am not saying he is mailing it in, I am saying that he does not go all in all the time, no one does.  I have seen him make knucklehead plays occasionally as well.  Like this one,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvmaOFo3iP0

or this one, completely which helps his team in no way

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFPG8aapllw

Behold, this is this year

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wpo2F4Ldr2U

Temper that with the fact, that it was preason,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SikiVn29sms

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO5vJz11u9w

Eyetest those and get back to me, he is human, and these things happen to all humans that play in the NBA.

I think he has improved a lot this year, but I clearly recall him missing a layup by hitting the bottom of the backboard in the game that Paul George got hurt in TEAM USA ball.

I think he would be great to have, his talent is so high that I think we have little or no chance of getting him.

^ Cousins has made boneheaded plays at times in his career, but what does getting his shot blocked or having him throw a poor inbounds pass as a rookie prove?

The New Rasheed Wallace... He needs a strong coach and some brothers to go to war with.

I thought comments were more about less judging by the organization+media+fans and asking for more support. Feel bad for him and that team. There are guys trying to be better while an organization is still trying to find an identity. They are young and growing team yet people want them to be contenders in the west because Boogie is a great player. They seem to have no patience or loyalty.

I used to think we should stay as far away from Cousins as possible.  But I think that Boogie tends to get a bit of bad rap.  Maturity happens at different rates / times for different people.  He is a fabulous player.  I have almost convinced myself that I would love him on our team.  He needs to have the right coach and teammates around him though.  Not sure Stevens is the best one to maximize his talents or not.

I did enjoy his interview with Bill a while back.  I really hope he can turn the corner with the maturity and get to that next level.

You seem to be offering up contradictory statements here. I've bolded them.

So it seems like you're calling him out for not giving a consistent effort, but then you're saying that no one in the NBA gives consistent effort, so we shouldn't call him out for not giving consistent effort?

Maybe I'm not understanding your post correctly.

That's exactly what I got from it too.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
