Not sure there are too many 7 foot rim protectors in Foot Locker but Robert Upshaw will probably enter the d league as its best defender.

He's looking like the next Larry Sanders though. The type of player who can't stay out of their own way with drugs.

I suppose. But why? Anyone from the Dleague will not significantly impact the celiocs' w/l this year nor make the celtics a much better team.

Such a player wins how many games for the celtics this season? Two, if that. And what good are those two wins?

Such a player would probably se a back up to the Celtics backup. So, sure. But not clear on why they do this.

Robert Upshaw may be worth a serious look. He was leading the nation with 4.4 blocks a game.
He's also not spoiled with a 40M contract, he may be ready to grow up and be a pro.

Why do you think Upshaw is going straight to the D-league?

I think Ainge will wait and see what develops, he even stated if he can add some pieces to make a playoff win he might.   If we don't the tank will be on, and he will not look for a rim protector.

Why wouldn't he? He's not eligible to sign with an NBA team, it's kind of late to try to catch on overseas, and not playing the rest of this year would just hurt his draft position.

Taking the P.J. Hairston route and going to the D-League is the best way to stay or get back into the first round where he was heading before getting kicked off the team

I see, yes I think you're right. I assumed he would go overseas and we wouldn't hear from him for a couple years, but apparently there is already movement in the other direction.
