team goes in desperation 3 mode way to early - I don'T want Sulli to shoot 3s in the 4th - with the win still in reach and still 3-5 minutes to play - actuallly I don't want him to shoot 3s at all.

I like him getting offensive rebounds. And he is really good at it. They are easier to get near the basket too.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Harden: 4-21 shooting.

I look forward to seeing similar performances from Harden in the playoffs.  2nd round is as far as the Rockets go.

Smart finished better than he started and got better as the game went on.

I get that he plays good defense but you can't totally ignore your offensive game to play d. He wasn't brought here to be a defensive specialist.

At the half of this Rockets game Marcus Smart is the 15th most impactful player tonight. Virtually every player that has touched the court tonight has had a bigger impact on the game than him. I wish I could say this isn't very common.

He's got to get the minutes and the touches to be impactful. They give him no role in the offense, and his minutes have been spotty.
His minutes have been spotty because he hasn't done anything with them. There are several other players tonight that have played similar minutes and look like they actually belong in the NBA. He looks like he belongs at OK St or possibly the D League

Righhhtttttt.
So you think he's just ready to go. Just ready to be a big piece but Stevens is just messing around with his minutes because.....no good reason?  Pressy is the better NBA player right now. They're giving him more minutes than he deserves already. He's not going to be on the all rookie team despite all the injuries. As of this moment he's a bust.
Only in the realm of trolls is Pressey better than Smart right now. Absolute nonsense.
Pressy doesn't suck completely when he plays and that's the difference. Smart flashes some good defensive ability here and there and that's about it, and no amount of wishful thinking or denial changes that.

This isn't what anyone signed up for with this guy, not by a long shot. He has a long ways to go.

EDIT: At least I hope you're trolling, because those comments aren't based in reality.
Troll would be "He'll never be that good at defense".

This is just an issue of being honest with ourselves. He's having a horrid horrid rookie year.

Exactly.  The trolling accusation is simply a defense mechanism to protect their fragile delusion.

Trolling: make a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them

Tell me that the quote "Pressey is a better player than Smart right now" does not have a hint of trolling to it. That's obviously false.
Maybe I should have said "equally good". When you look at the stats and it's like 27 minutes 4 points on 1 of 5 shooting and 4 fouls, 3 rebs ....Pressey can do better than that

That's not trolling.  Pressey can go out there and get a couple rebs, and a couple shots.

Pressey probably couldn't do what Smart did on defense tonight, but then Demo probably doesn't end up looking like an all star either.
Well, Pressey can't do what Smart does on defense any night. His limited size ensures that.

I'll give it to Pressey that he's a better passer than Smart, but I don't think he's better in any other part of the game at all.

Yeah he was pulling the 3 trigger too early too often.

Well..

If we had a defensive stopper center in the paint ...we win....

No answer for another big man ........we get killed once again

This nobody looked like Bill Walton against a team with no rim protector

Yes but even in passing dept, Smart is going to improve.

Wow! That really gives credit to Turner, Smart, and Crowder who guarded him most of the night. That's an insanely bad shooting night for someone like Harden.

I agree. He impacted other areas of the game, and it didn't matter a lot because Demo played like an all star but this kept them in the game till the end

Smart did an exceptional job on him in iso situations.  Positioned himself to make Harden go right.  Harden ended up making a non-effective perimeter pass in many situations.

Yeah Smart is going to be a magnificent defender for many years.
