I'm breaking mine down into different segments.

I'll start will the young players that have now been around for a while.  Maybe not this offseason, but I think at some point next year Ainge has to start thinking whether he really wants any of these players as part of a core for hopefully a future playoff contender, or flip them for other assets.  Most of them I would guess would only show minimal improvement from here on out, but maybe Sully and KO can surprise us with a big jump to their games.

Turner age 26-1 left year on contract after this season
Zellar age 25- 2 years left
Crowder age 24- 1 year left
Bradley age 24- 3 years left
Olynyk age 23 -3 years left
Sully age 22 -2 years left

Smart and Young get a pass for a while since they are so young, and they appear to have some nice upside.

Next segment consists of vets Thornton, Prince, and Bass.   I would think all 3 could help a playoff team.  Maybe a team gets desperate, and we get a future protected draft pick of some sort.  We'll find out soon enough by the trade deadline.

Next segment is the trade exemptions.  We have 12.9 Rondo and 5 mil Wright one, and other smaller ones.   We have easily the most trade exemptions in the league.  Maybe we rent out space for assets like the Cleveland trade last summer.

Next segment is free agency.  I doubt that any high profile free agent would leave their current team to come to us, so I think we might have to be patient for a year or 2 here as Ainge compiles more assets.

I think it's too early in the game to start flipping some of these draft picks for a very good player as I don't really see anyone available we could get just yet.  I think we could be a year away from starting to see that happen.

Wallace is on an island by himself, but maybe we could use him in a trade starting this offseason as an expiring contract.   :P

Depends what opportunities arise. Until major pieces are put in place, I would not push the issue on bringing in minor pieces.

Start the best players. If the alleged "budding stars" can't make their way into out to a starting lineup spot, get rid of said "budding stars".

Two scenarios:This is saying we dont get lucky in the lottery (of course)

1. Draft WCS, throw the Max at Kawhi

Smart - 20 yrs old
Young - 19 yrs old
Kawhi - 23 yrs old
Sully - 22 yrs old
WCS - 20 yrs old

Really Young Starting lineup with GREAT size and Potential
GET YOUNG MORE MINUTES

2. Draft Stanley Johnson/Winslow, throw everything at Deandre Jordan

Smart
AB
Johnson/Winslow
Sully
Deandre

A bit older but has the proven rim protector we really need and a possible go to scorer

I prefer scenario 1 because I really like the youth movement and if we're bad again or if the nets pick is lottery we have a chance to get Jaylen Brown or Ben Simmons in 2016. Develop the dynasty

I think we need athletic front court players and a scoring wing or two.   AB is ok, ET is ok, but neither is lights out.    I think everyone knows my feelings on getting more athletic at the four and five.   Athletic guys can play too, folks, it is not the end of player evaluation but given two players are equal in other ways, I would always take the more athletic.

If we are going to run, then get rid of guys who can't.   If we are going to play halfcourt then get rid of guys who can't shoot.   Get guys who can play D, so we are not bleeding out points in every game.

First, I think it's important to figure out who's in the core that we intend to build around.  For me, it's:

Smart
Young
Sully
Olynyk
Bradley
Zeller
Crowder (to a lesser extent)
Lottery Pick (hopefully Russell or Johnson) -- Danny will need to trade up
Clips pick (an athletic big like Damian Jones from Vandy)

Second, we need to throw the max at Deandre Jordan.  He's the rim-protector that we need and teams would really struggle to score with a lineup of Smart, Bradley, Crowder, and Jordan on the floor.

Finally, use some of the leftover money to sign Aaron Brooks.  He can add scoring off the bench and backup Marcus.

Starters

C - Jordan
PF - Sully
SF - Johnson
SG - Bradley
PG - Smart

2nd unit

C - Zeller
PF - Olynyk
SF - Crowder
SG - Young
PG - Brooks

3rd unit

C - James
PF - Rakeem Christmas (2nd round pick)
SF - Rondae Hollis - Jefferson (2nd-round pick)
SG - Dawkins
PG - Pressey

1. Keep what we currently have for the rest of the season and go into next year with cap space.
2. Use cap space and picks to make a sign and trade offer of either Jimmy Butler or Kawhi Leonard
3. Draft WCS with our first pick, then have a young defensive minded core of Smart, Bradley, Butler/Leonard, Sully/Olynyk, WCS to build around.

This may be doable. It's not a pipe dream. And we would have an improved Celtic team to lure a big fish in 2016.

(Unfortunately as I was starting to be a cheerleader for WCS, he has taken the last 3 Kentucky games off.)

Play guys like Smart and Young 40 mpg and trade off the rest of the veterans.

Draft the best players available and sign the best free agent available.

Ditto next year when we have even more draft picks.

That's about the deal.

The "surprise"  Disenchanted player  or star player wanting to leave .....team breaking up like the Nets.

I think this is where our next Star comes from

Danny is waiting for the right guys to become available .  Two guys wanting a ring and the right situation.

A Sully that's in shape, like serious condition, would be an 18 and 10 guy. He would gather all star attention.

If Sully was going to "get in shape" it would have happened already.  This is year 3.  He's a rich man's Glen Davis.

Many posters on cb were way ahead of the ball in regards to trading Rondo and starting the rebuild. So because DA did not make a move because he wanted to stay" flexible" we lost out on some promising prospects. We played things way too safe after the KG and PP trade.

I think its time to take more risks. For example we (I mean myself) know what KO and Sully are most likely going to be. Decent but not stars.
Last year on cb I suggested getting Gobert many times but the majority were not willing to give up KO or Sully.....now look.

I'm just angry and depressed that the guy I wanted is now much further out of reach than before.....its a horrible feeling....kind of like looking at a house and almost buying it and then less than a year later it quadruples in price.

Exactly, we need to trade him to a team that still thinks he has a lot of potential(which is possible) because he is a younger player.
