What will we do with Randolph?
He makes 1.2M so I don't know if it matters.  What I remember of him in 2013? was that he was a strong rebounder and decent post presence.  Give him Olynyk's minutes.   ;)

At the 4/5 we're running out Sully,Bass, Olynyk, Zeller. Night to night one or more of these guys gets in foul trouble. Randolph will prove to be a serviceable big when we're in dire straits.

Money for Nuthin'. This is a pun.

Word, just wasn't sure if he was an expiring or not. Realized he is.

I guess the next three weeks will be down time until the deadline.

According to Hoopshype, Celtics currently have less than $3 mil in cap space.

So, on Draft Night 2015, they would have to use the TPE if they wished to pursue the scenario I describe. There is no cap space until the calendar rolls over to July.
Which brings me back to my original point, don't all contracts expire the last day of the season?

Can't find the original point, but contracts last through June 30th if they expire this year, and count towards the cap until June 30th.  However, expiring contracts can't be traded after the trade deadline.

For luxury tax purposes, however, it's contracts on the roster (and amounts paid to released players) as of the last day of the season, so the tax will not be an obstacle on draft night trades.  Also, I think the C's are not subject to the hard cap this year, as they used an amount equal the small MLE for Turner's contract, although I'm not positive they didn't still use the larger exception anyway, to preserve the rest of it later on.  But potentially the Celtics can go wild on draft night with exceptions if they so choose.

Getting Shavlik now lets the Celtics trade Bass and still have four decent big men to send out every game.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Austin Rivers: first NBA player to conclusively show that he's worth less in the NBA trade market than his 53 year old dad.

I liked him then for his hustle and being hard-nosed, literally.

My lasting image of him was him playing with a bloody  cotton plug up one of his nostrils after he got bloodied.

It does?

When did Shav Randolph become decent?
