I mentioned Portland, but Detroit also makes sense to me. There SG depth bites. Could send him there for the ability to swap their pick for LAC pick (DET lottery protected). Detroit's going to make the playoffs, so should bump us up about 6-8 slots, I think.

I've asked this before, but can someone please clarify if Joel Anthony can be traded back to us?

I think it's unlikely we get that much for Thornton.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon

Antony cannot be traded back to us.  Detroit could send Butler and Datome for Thornton tho.

This with the pick swap. Cs can send them back a 2nd as needed. Can also do this deal with Bass.

Detroit wouldn't make that deal.  Jumping 8 draft slots is valuable.

I'm actually call in' it right now. The Cs and Pistons are making a deal of some kind before the 2015 deadline.

It will be Butler, not Jerebko. I've been eyeing Detroit since their streak looked sustainable.  That said, Thornton is instant offense for a team that just got back Jodie Meeks at the start of their run, so I don't see much more than a second coming back.  But when you consider we were given a 1st and Zeller for taking on Thornton, anything extra is gravy.

I'm hoping for a "Magic" reunion for SVG and Bass.

Fine by me. And make it Bass if you like. Just get that pick swap instead of a 2nd. Throw in the rights to Colton Iverson.

I still find it fun to root for the Clippers to miss the playoffs.  That said, I just don't see SVG giving up a huge amount for either Bass or Thornton.  But it's his first time with power, so who knows.  They can have 10 Colton's for all I care.

I like Thorton.  He's a good reliable bench.  Why do we need to trade every bench player we have?

You're probably right. And I was joking about Iverson.

Why not send 'em both?

I was hoping he'd be a little more reliable than this, honestly.

Maybe they would bite on something like an optional 2016 or 2017 pick swap.  The worst they could end up with is a Celtics pick which seems like pretty good insurance for them.  I wonder what the perceived value of something like that would be for both sides.

no one is trading for thorton . He will be bought out

He may end up on the Cs throughout the rest of the season and the Cs may let his contract expire, but he won't be bought out.

THIS ^^^ No reason to buy him out as he is expiring, and knows the system to play out the string. Unless he is willing to take a steep discount on the buy-out, I dont see it...
