I'm surprised Dallas packaged this guy

Ainge got two first round picks(the Wright trade included), a trade exception, and a guy who is better than Green for a declining Rondo.

Brilliant!

i'd love to keep Crowder but he's the wrong player for this team in the same way Kris Humphries was.

So wrong.

Tough players like Crowder and Smart are exactly what we need.

Problem is, Crowder will never be anything more than a quality bench player/fringe starter.

It is not wise to invest long-term money into players like that when you don't yet have the core pieces (i.e. stars) in place.

Yea like Bradley . Simple solution , trade Bradley for an expiring and re-sign Crowder to 3 mil less than Bradley makes a year  :P

I'm a fan.

Although today I think we would be best served to draft a small forward (if we can't get a top 3 center) and groom him to eventually be an upgrade over Crowder. After yesterday I am entertaining the possibility that he will grow as the season progresses and deserve a starting spot next year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Crowder is young and already better than Green.

Smart, Young, Crowder, Sullinger and add a center in this years draft, and we are ready to go.
As excited iam about crowder , we have to see more. Can he produce consistently on the offensive end. 20 pts a game is not realistic but 12-14 a game?

Wait and see

crowder reminds me a lot of bobcat-era gerald wallace, and that's a good thing. if his shooting continues to improve just a bit he could be a very nice help to a good team.

Just for you guys who want to keep track, Crowder has now been compared to Kenneth Faried, Demarre Carroll, and young Gerald Wallace in this thread.

I think you guys are WAY off base.

Crowder plays much more like a baby Jordan Hill, except with some shooting range akin to a poor-man's Chris Copeland. There are also parts of his game reminiscent of a modern-day Mickael Gelabale, but with the tenacity of Latrell Sprewell.

I don't  care about this  other "argument "  but you  don't  need to think about RR or Green coming back over the  summer, they can't sign with us for a year, I think a full calendar year. I think it was like 30 days before Ilgauskas (lol I hope that's close) was traded from Cavs and came back after he was waived (Shaq season). League wasn't having that again lol. I don't know why it was allowed before. Imagine we traded RR or someone for a big and he agreed to come back over the summer in a hush hush way. Now, that would have been shady but nice lol. What about Pierce? Yep, that would definitely be shady!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Nah, I didn't mean style when I said he plays like GWall, I meant the way he hustles. Grit and determination! Kid is everywhere out there. Hopefully he won't dive into too many stands, it's not good for the body.

Fair enough. I don't want to see his career derailed by injury like Marquis Daniels or Etan Thomas.

Crowder reminds me of james posey. Just a blue collar ,hard nose player, good bbiq, able to guard multiple positions.   If he can be consistent with his jump shot , he will be a nice player for a long time. A fan fav

Honestly, who he remind me of at this point is his teammate at Marquette. I think he's pretty similar in terms of effort and development to where Jimmy Butler was a year ago. Now I'm not saying Crowder will have the same explosion onto the scene as Jimmy Butler did in his fourth year (although if you compare Jimmy Butler and Jae's 3rd season per 36 numbers they are pretty similar), I'm just saying their styles are similar.

No, I'm really just joking about the dreadlocks.

If you want a serious player comparison, Jae Crowder is Alonzo Gee with a little more charisma (possibly coming from his hair).

Walking it back a little before people go crazy, it's inportant to remember that Jimmy Butler played hurt a lot of last year, and has always been a bit Bette at shot creation for both himself and others than Crowder, which definitely helps his value.  They do play with similar energy, and I do think Crowder is a keeper.  But I don't see him developing into a franchise cornerstone as Butler is becoming.
