BostonCalderon
2015 1st rd pick
Why for us?The Knicks currently have the worst record in the league, so this pick at the very worst, should they remain in last place, would be a #4 pick.
Calderon, despite his contract, does provide us with a veteran presence, shooting, and a player that Smart can learn from.

2015 1st rd pick (LAC)
2016 1st rd pick (CLE)
The two Minnesota 2nd rd picks
Sullinger (this would have to be done separately, in which they absorb him via a TPE)
Why for NY?The Knicks are desperate to get out of Calderon's salary and by doing so, it would allow them to sign 2 impact players in free agency.
Having a top pick is great, but Melo is turning 31 this season and I doubt Jackson has the patience to have that player develop.
Sullinger looks like a very good fit in the triangle and he's still on a very cost friendly deal.
The Knicks trade away picks by the boatload and this would be a good way to add picks back, which provides great roster flexibility with inexpensive rookie contracts.
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/12154100/new-york-knicks-trying-trade-jose-calderon-andrea-bargnaniThe New York Knicks are actively trying to trade veterans Jose Calderon and Andrea Bargnani as part of their ongoing roster clear-out, according to league sources.
Calderon, meanwhile, has no shortage of admirers around the league despite his struggles this season, averaging a mere 9.2 points per game on 40 percent shooting. But the two years left on his contract after this season -- worth $15.1 million -- could make it difficult to move the 33-year-old Spaniard, who arrived in New York in late June as the Knicks' foremost return in the Tyson Chandler deal with Dallas.
The trade with the Cavs netted a 2019 second-round pick and generated two potentially useful trade exceptions worth roughly $6 million ?and $2.5 million. The exceptions could help facilitate additional trades prior to the deadline.
