Most likely we see the pick in 2019.  I actually prefer that, due to the glut of picks we have.  Plus, by that time hopefully Gasol will be in decline, and Randolph will be long gone.

Is that pick protection confirmed now?

I've seen that protection in multiple sources, but no official sources.  I haven't found any competing reports of different pick protection, and it seems pretty rational.

Forsberg reports:

Protections on Memphis pick (received 2 years after Denver fulfilled) 11+ in '17; 13+ in ’18; 9+ in ’19; 7+ in ’20 + unprotected in '21.

So, same thing as stated above, just in a different way.
