So far I haven't seen any website mention what the pick protection is on the Memphis pick we are receiving.  I did see one tiny mention on ESPN that says we'll get the Memphis pick 2 years after Memphis gives their pick to Denver.   Memphis owes Denver their pick.  Here's the protection on that:

Quote
2015 first round draft pick to Denver
Memphis' 1st round pick to Denver (via Cleveland) protected for selections 1-5 and 15-30 in 2015, 1-5 and 15-30 in 2016, 1-5 in 2017 and 1-5 in 2018 and unprotected in 2019 [Cleveland-Memphis, 1/22/2013; Cleveland-Denver, 1/7/2015]

So according to that tiny blurb I saw on ESPN, depending on when Memphis gives up their 1st to Denver, Boston gets Memphis' pick two years later.  Unfortunately, it didn't clarify if there were protections on it for us.

From what I can gather, since a trade hasn't been finalized and the filler type stuff isn't written in stone no one knows what the protection is. Maybe since Danny originally wanted two first rounders he will manage to get something good like only top 3-5 protected or 15-30 protected for two years to unprotected like that Denver pick

No details on it yet. We'll find out tomorrow when the trade call happens and the deal is finalized.

... with the further condition that it's conveyed two years after Memphis sends its #1 to Denver (via Cleveland).

Most likely we see the pick in 2019.  I actually prefer that, due to the glut of picks we have.  Plus, by that time hopefully Gasol will be in decline, and Randolph will be long gone.

We have enough current picks 2019 will be great for us. 2 picks at least in every draft gives us a chance to move up. I think the players we have left also have a ton of potential. Our future is bright.

For a franchise like Memphis this pick could be great for the Celtics. Projecting 4 years out for a small market team whose core will be past their prime by then, this pick actually should hold very good value. It wouldn't be unrealistic to expect a mid-first round pick. For a soon to be free agent Jeff Green?

and don't forget the endless riches and fabulous booty the celtics will reap once they flip austin rivers. ;)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Memphis would be stupid not to protect it - they could really be bad by then if their core doesn't age well. I'll be surprised if it isn't top-10 protected at least, either way its a good deal.
