I would never have signed Bradley to a big contract.

Smart should be the starting two guard.

Avery Bradley is one of those players that I know was a technically sound signing who is statistically pretty good, but I just get an irksome feeling whenever I see him play. I think it's his hunched-over-looking jumper.

FYI... we can finally trade Bradley on the 15th.  Wouldn't be surprised to see him moved next week.

Without moving Bradley, I don't believe we have enough cap space to sign two max players.

For? More highly protected picks? Or TEs or cap space (neither of which we will use).

Still can't understand all the Bradley hate. I have never once watched him and thought he didn't get his all during a game. He takes a lot of shots, but someone needs to take shots for this team.

Bradley has score 17 or more in 6 of his last 8 games. With Green and Rondo gone he will lead the team in scoring the rest of the year and play very good defense.

The signing is only baffling now because Ainge was forced to alter his strategy mid-stream.

Hate to re-hash this: but if Cleveland doesn't win the lottery, they probably aren't able to trade for Love, and we have the best offer - all of a sudden we have Rondo-Bradley-Green-Love to build around, which makes sense. Bradley is ideally probably a 5th/6th player on a contending team. With the salary cap about to rise in 2016, $8M isn't all that crazy.

Of course, now that we've been forced to blow everything up, he probably isn't the best fit. But he's still developing, and we need to pay somebody eventually or else we won't hit the minimum salary pretty soon. We could do much worse.

Here's the thing... if you have 8 mil to spend, I'm sure you'd be able to get a Bradley-level player any summer you want.   I'd much rather have cap space so we can at least have a glimmer of hope of signing two max contracts.

Bradley is replaceable... especially for that price tag.   I'd trade him before the deadline for an expiring.  With him on the books, it's going to be tough to even offer a max deal to ONE player.

I don't think anyone will want to sign here as a max free agent this offseason. I think this offseason we will work on improving our assets then attempt to add a quality free agent in 2016. By then the cap will be $80, Gerald Wallace will be off the books and we will have more than enough to sign two max guys.

I disagree that a player like Bradley can be found on the open market. Especially because anyone who would command a salary like that isn't signing with us if he gets equal money from a better team.

Ab's consistent effort is what you want around young developing players, while it is hard to measure the exact value of this on other players, it certainly isn't 0 and should add to his value.

Don't forget all the hate over Green's contract when he signed. Yet he is obviously going to opt out of the final year because his market value is higher than his contract.

Bradley is still darn young. His offense will continue to improve and his effort is always there.

I still can't believe how horrible he is at passing though. Even when he makes the right play, he can't get the ball to where his teammates can pull it in. He can't feed the post and his passes to guys cutting tend to be in hard to catch places. The feeding the post problem really concerns me since NBA players are really good at sealing their man.

True his passing is very bad (although I think he is an adequate passer when he is at stand still)  and his handle is not good either, but if he could do both those things he would be making a heck of a lot more than he does now.

Considering the way the cap is jumping in 2 years, I think Bradley will end up being a better value than Green when it's all said and done.

The cynics on this forum make the Idea of a producitive 23 year old, not to mention hard working guard, on a reasonable contract in a  rebuild situation sound almost as bad as handing out a max contract to a 35 year old injury prone, cancer to the team vet. I mean seriously! Its like Avery Bradley can do on right.

they'll easily over 20+ mill of cap room even if you include nelson contract which i suspect he will forgo, without even stretching Wallace.

I didn't like the Bradley or Green signings but with Green you at least saw some potential he could be greater than what he ended up being. Despite his youth Bradley's ceiling is well defined to me.

Also you can't say that Green's deal ended up being OK when for the first two years he was widely considered a disappointment and didn't improve until his contract was up and you couldn't get as good a return in a deall anymore.
