I'm rooting for the Pistons too. Gotta love whats happened to them. I remember when they had Smith I was looking at their roster and thinking how the frick is this team that has so much talent one of the worst in the NBA? Plain and simple, the Josh Smith signing was so bad that not only did he not fit in but his stank spread to the rest of his team (Remember when we were all clamoring for the Celtics to get him at all costs?). Now he's gone, and the Pistons are playing as well as I thought they were going to back when they first signed Smith and Jennings.
This might be overreaching but after their last 2 road wins in San Antonio and Dallas (2 playoff teams in a bloodbath of a conference), I think Detroit will at the very least, be a competitive force in the playoffs. Add Jeff Green to that team, and I think that puts them in the conversation of the best in the east. I really do. They got a franchise big in Drummond. A great coach in SVG. A great #2 big in Monroe. Talented point guards in Jennings and Augustin. Jodie Meeks is proving to be a solid addition to them as the dead eye shooter. Then the hypothetical Green-to-DET. I know there's nothing as far as a potential trade but I do like the potential benefits Green gives the Pistons. Green's an upgrade over what they have at the wing (Butler and Jerebko) and I think he'd do well because he wouldn't be the offensive focal point.
The real question is, what could the Celtics get back for Green from Detroit?
