KO is not playing well

His outside shot is way off and has been for several games.It seems he is attempting to be more aggressive on defense but has not fared well  and i think he needs to work on how he sets screens.It must not be easy for anybody with the mixed rotations. Zeller could have had a monster game but missed some easy scores inside.Whats wrong with him taking some shots from 15 ft like his brother

I think he's actually "playing" better but as you said his shot just isn't falling right now, it will though. I thought CBS put him in great spots last night, pairing him with Zeller was excellent, it really helped space the floor. KO just needs 28+ minutes a game right now to get in the flow and show what he can do.

KO's not playing to his potential, but he's still contributing--with both the second highest OR and net rating on the team (after Crowder) since Rondo left.

I really think he needs to attend an excellent big man camp this summer, rather than maybe making the C's happy by hanging around Waltham.

Likewise, I think Smart and Young need an intensive dribbling and ball handling camp while they're both young this summer.

KO seems to be a bit of a perfectionist who slips when he's not doing all the things he's trying to do well, but in the right environment with the right support that should be a big plus toward his reaching his potential.

KO has not been getting minutes. Tommy made an excellent point in the post game saying KO is not the guy (at least yet) who will come off the bench and average 15 ppg but he works well within the system and contributes in other areas.

He just needs more minutes to make an impact. At least 25 mpg, no more 12-15 please. This is why Bass and Wright need to go even more than Green.

Reminds me of Bargnani with the Raps early in his career. Was not consistent when coming off the bench. Needed to start and play more minutes to be consistent. Relied too heavily on others to create shots for him. Not good enough shot creator. Needs to be a 3rd/4th option on offense. Not good enough to be a main creator or 2nd option on team.

Yup, and Kelly at least so far has largely avoided rebounding like a SG.

Tommy's right. No reason for KO not to be getting twice the minutes he's got as of late. I think Wright actually loses value the more they play him with a team that's new to him, and Bass isn't go to change any team's opinion of him at this point either.

Offensively KO can do lots of things for a big. Broader skill-set might be a reason his consistency will come later in his carrier with more experience.

Right now he has plenty of option when catching at his usual spot above the break - he can catch and shoot, he can drive (left and right), he can pass it into the post or just move the ball to the next perimeter guy. Most of the bigs can only just pass it to the next guy and set the next screen.

He will think less and react better with time. Shorter and inconsistent minutes do not help, though.

Kelly worries me.  Just when I think he might be better than I thought, he regresses.  Granted it may be lack of playing time and may be the role he's being expected to play, but with his slowness, predictability, and weak hands, he's really got to be able to shoot lights out to be an impact player.   I think a great shot would open things for him and would allow his methodical fakes and plodding moves to the hoop to have greater impact, but without the shot going, he is very manageable. 

And why can he not hold onto a ball in traffic? Are his hands my size?  He just can't grip the ball, or is too slow to maneuver it out of danger. 

I think Raef LaFentz (not Dirk) is his ceiling -- which isn't terrible, but as a down the chart option on the court-- and only if he can get stronger in body and grip, and improve the consistency of his shot.   

Interesting note (at least to me) -- Raef LaFrentz is only 38 years old.  Didn't you think he'd be older than that?

Is it a possibilty that he is trying to be more physical on d and putting in more effort and that has effected his touch or concentration ,after all it's only second year and alot of changes.

KO is a stretch 4, that can't defend. He should never play the position of center, unless in emergency.
He shouldn't start, he should come off the bench to initiate offense, that's the limit of his usefulness at this time. He is not, or never will be, a Dirk.

He only a 2nd year player.. We have seen what he can do when he plays with aggression. Too soon to write him off

I am not a fan of Olynyk. He shows flashes of greatness but he just doesn't have a good feel for the game.
