Miss Rondo's gaudy triple doubles?
Consider this:Kane is the only player in NCAA history to have amassed more than 2,000 points, 700 rebounds and 600 assists.
He is tough as nails. Imagine Smart, Kane and Crowder together defending the perimeter.
This x5. Did phenomenal things for Iowa St last year. Took them deep into the tourney after arguably the best of their "big 3" went down. Would be a welcome addition.
I watched pretty much every ISU game last year that Kane played. (ISU alum here...) Kane def outplayed smart in the two ISU/OKS games, but those games were freaking wars and Smart played pretty well also.
Kane is probably more able to be a true point guard right now than smart. I think Kane's ability to penetrate might be a bit better than Smarts, even though Smarts def is probably a notch higher. Last year Smart got so much guff for all the flopping he did. I am glad that has at least been toned down this year and he is just playing tough d for the most part.
A Kane/Smart/Crowder lineup would be brutal on the opposing teams offense, but almost just as bad on us as well. Kane is a similar shooter to Smart, he is very streaky from the 3 point line. He did seem to be better able to get to the rim and still be productive when his outside shot wasn't falling. Very few games was he ever just not productive. Great passer as well. Eh probably won't even get a chance here, but I thought people might want to know a bit more.
