I want to see if anyone has the guts to say they would rather build around Okafor than any other big in the NBA. His defense is way behind Davis's, but I'm almost at that point. 28 pts 8 boards and 4 blocks tonight, I think duke has what it takes to win it all. J.o. is the next Tim Duncan on offense I an blown away by this 275 pound 18 year old.

Kneel for Jahlil? Think the best we can hope for is the basketball gods giving us the #1 pick at the 4-7th best odds. Start up the rain dance.

I'd be even be fine with a Withdrawal for Karl, to Ruin-ya-day for Mudiay or even opt to Keep our wins low for... Winslow.

I bet you the Cavaliers would still get the number 1 pick somehow.

We've never had the number one pick in the draft once in our history (with our own pick, anyway.  Maybe someone puts lead in our ping-pong balls, lol, because the machine clearly hates the sight of green.), so I wouldn't expect that trend to change.  Sigh.

I would rather build around Davis, but Okafor could be special.  He has already improved quite a bit during this season.  I watched the Duke/BC game and was totally impressed.  His last 3 games he has gone for 27, 24, and 28 on better than 75% shooting.  His fundamentals are reminiscent of Duncan, but he's not as athletic or as good of a defender.

After Davis, I'd go with Okafor as far as young big men.  Embiid has more upside, but he's a project and already has a worrying injury history.  Drummond is the better defender and rebounder, but I'd rather have Okafor's post game.  Cousins is too much of a hot head.

We're due.  :).  After seeing how bad we've played lately, I'm leaning to full tank mode.  Sigh.

Ironically, for all the hype last year's draft class got, I'd take Mudiay and Okafor over any and all of them.

I wanna get in on some of these taglines but it's tough to rhyme stuff with Porzingis.

We can work with mid round pick too, the 5th pick Jeff Green once became Ray Allen. A team could look to part with an established veteran for a chance at Stanley Johnson or Mario Hezonja.

It wasn't meant to come off as a hot take. There were supposed to be 5 or more franchise cornerstones in last year's draft. Somewhere along the way Randle comps went from prime Amare to poor man's Zach Randolph, forget all the injuries. A lot of those projections turned out to be crap. I don't know if it was intentional or not.

There probably are a bunch of all stars from last year's draft, it's way too early to tell.  Think about Andre Drummond - the pistons wouldn't trade him for anything,  but it's not like he's bringing them on his back to the playoffs.   We won't even see either of the 6er rookies for another 8 months

I'm not sure Okafor will become more than Al Jefferson from the Duke games I've seen.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

That's still a lot better than anyone the Celtics currently have.  The Duke/Louisville game should be good to watch.   Interested to see how Okafor performs against their excellent defense.
