Green is extremely overrated as the Celtics will be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for him. Play the kids and get this waste of space out of Boston please.
I think Memphis would love to get him for a second rounder along  with a fair amount of other playoff teams.

I doubt it will be any better than a 2020 conditional one. Just an awful player that is only scoring points because no one else on this team can. Turner Thornton and Green are all horrible chuckers that need to go. It's the exact opposite of Banks 2.0 where he can't develop a shot but can play defense at a decent clip.

Jeff looks like he's waiting to be traded. I feel like he used to be totally bought into the Celtic green, but is now disillusioned. Stinky times. I really liked him. Danny is scrapping this team.

I never liked Green.

He's a volume shooter with zero focus on the court.

I knew everything that I needed to know about Green when I heard that his contract was structured in a way that rewarded him for even average rebounding for his position.  WOW. :o ::)

Aint that the truth. That man should be so grateful to us. Danny should have let another team make an offer for Green...it would have been half of what he got from us....He made the same mistake with Avery.

So true. Ainge overpaid for Bass, Green, and Bradley.

Lots of players around the league are overpaid.  IMO, Bass, Green and Bradley are overpaid but not egregiously so.  With the current state of the Celtics, everyone should expect Ainge to continue to have to overpay players.

JG to Memphis with Lil' Phil
Jordan Adams + Javale McGee to the Cs
Tayshaun Prince to the Nuggets

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nvz4sxu

Why for Memphis: upgrade SF position, basically (JG+VC+TA+CL at the wings should be good), get a third string PG for cheap.
Why for Nuggets: save lots of money by getting under the tax, make room for Mozgov/Nurkic
Why for Cs: getting a rim protector to pair with Sully/KO, who could be both a long term contributor and a tank boost this season. Getting another prospect in Adams,

This would punt cap space into 2016, with Javale+Wallace combined 20M in the books until then, and maybe becoming good/great trade assets in a year.

Turner/Smart/Jameer
Bradley/Thornton/Adams
Crowder/Wallace/Young
KO/Sully/Bass
McGee/Zeller/Wright

This might not last a lot, as Bass/Wright/Thornton/Jameer could be very soon traded for more assets.

People think Jeff is so talented and I just don't get it..His talent is his speed and jumping. He's not very quick with the ball, he has weak handle, doesn't have many moves to score, you know he wants to go right every single time and lets hope his slow stand straight up dribble into his defender isn't called a charge. Terrible rebounder, terrible at creating offense for teammates, no toughness, doesn't play passing lanes or create steals, runs the floor when he feels like it. Inconsistent shooter who takes casual, bad lazy shots that anyone could take if they were allowed to. You have someone like Kelly who is a good shooter passing up decent shots while passing to Green, Bradley, etc so they can take their lazy contested shots off the dribble... Poor BBIQ..At times I think he should probably be used like Shawn Marion but he shows flashes of something more from time to time... I like Jeff. He's not a horrible player but he's limited in a lot of ways and not as good or I guess as bad as people think.

TP agreed.

I've mentioned in the past trading Jeff Green to Miami for Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts.

Yes I know McRoberts is out for the year, but he'd be a nice player going into next season.

Granger is injury prone but can still play and this also creates more playing time for Crowder.

I think Miami would do this deal.

I bet the Pistons would love to trade Brandon Jennings and maybe Gigi Datome for Jeff Green and Jameer Nelson.  I bet that only an idiot would accept that trade from the Celtics' end.

By every statistical measure he has simply cratered since the Rondo trade. Without going into all the minutiae here are some headlines: Before Rondo was traded he was getting to the line about 5 times a game. Now, barely 3. Before Rondo got traded he scored in double digits in every game he had played in. Every one. In the eight games since Rondo was dealt he has been in single digits twice with two other games where he scored 11 and 13. With Rondo he was shooting 45%. now, barely 35%.

More importantly he looks completely disengaged and miserable. He plays with no fire at all. Last night in Chicago while the team was battling he was loafing, chucking up airballs and looking liked it annoyed him to be out there.

He has become a virulent poison for this team and must be dealt immediately. If I were Danny I would find the best deal from a team with a losing record and ship this spoiled, petulant quitter out on a rail.

The guy is alive because the Celtics perform extra health and heart tests that other teams do not because of the Reggie Lewis incident. This team literally saved his life. The fact he has shut it down like this is pathetic.

I get that shipping out Rondo may to the casual viewer mean the Celtics are tanking. Fine. Still, we are in the hunt for a playoff spot such as it is and if Green were to bring it we may make it. Even if we failed the payoff for him would be astounding. Certainly a raise over the 9 million Ainge gifted him a few years back. Instead he quits.

Jeff Green must go before he poisons the well. It can not be soon enough.

At least you always know what you're getting from Bass, lol.

Prediction:  First team that pony's up a late protected 1st gets Green.  Otherwise, we move him at the deadline for an expiring contract and 2nd rounder.

Can't imagine him being here after the deadline... we dont' want to risk him staying on the books.

Almost, if not,  the same situation as Rondo. if we don't move him now, he will be worth nothing down the road.
Green is so undependable, I don't understand what Danny is waiting for.  he has got to trade him now and make one big push to get us back on the map again!!!

Have you ever thought that nobody wants him??  Nobody wants a guy that gives you inconsistent effort, makes nine million and even though he is 6'9, he can't rebound??  I am sure DA is trying to move the guy...

I second that.  Let's see Crowder and Young play.
Let's get rid of Nelson and Bass too.

We need Nelson for depth.

I don't think anyone wants Bass.

Dont think we need Nelson for depth we have Turner, SMart and Pressy. An additional PG can be found out of D-league to get thru the year.

I dont think its that no one wants Bass its that team aren't looking to give up much and want to explore better options. Come deadline time some team that needs a bench big will settle on giveing the Cs a 2nd for him.
