I agree.

I don't blame Green with getting frustrated from being on a crappy team, but he isn't exactly moving heaven and earth right now with his play on the court.

He missed a lot of shots today, made a lot of fouls and really isn't exactly playing that great himself.

Others have mentioned this and I agree that Phoenix would be a good place for Jeff Green.

I like this idea as I think the Celts could use another point guard while Smart develops
and that would be swapping Green with Isaiah Thomas.

Green is what makes us a "crappy team."

He has the worst plus or minus of the 11 regular players.
The Celtics are 10 points worse with Green on the court.
That's why Danny wants to trade him.

Green doesn't make us a crappy team - our roster assures that, lol.  I don't understand the interest in Isaiah Thomas, though.  No, just, no, lol. ;D I don't even care what or who we get for him, as long as there aren't any bad contracts.  All I want is for James Young to start.  I'd be ticked off if I was him, being transported back and forth from Boston to Maine at an almost daily rate.  Pick a side already, lol! ;D LET HIM PLAY.

Jeff looks like he's waiting to be traded. I feel like he used to be totally bought into the Celtic green, but is now disillusioned. Stinky times. I really liked him. Danny is scrapping this team.

But he had to know it was coming, the team with him and Rondo together was simply losing too much.  At some point you have to take responsibility for the team's results.  They did not get it done together.

I am not a fan of all of these in season trades though.

He has had a good consistent season.  His rebounding is improved and per usual good scoring and defense.
I hope we trade him and bass to playoff teams.  they don't deserve this season  :-[

To me it makes little sense that Smart, Young, Sully and KO don't log the majority of the minutes.

Because despite what fans want, Stevens is still trying to win games.

and he should. tanking should come from the front office, not the players and coaches.

I assume bass & green are still here because ainge is trying to get the best offer(which I don't believe will be much after the hit we took w/ Rondo). imo holding on to these clowns at this point does way more harm than good. if we win 1 game between now and the deadline it's too many with these 2 still here. the return for either or both likely will not be better than our own pick this yr. and that's more important than some late 1st that ainge is hoping for.

I don't understand why Green still here.  I don't understand why alot of these guys are still here.  It makes it even more odd that Rondo was shipped out so quickly and for so little.   Like what was the urgency to get Rondo out of here and keep the rest of these vets?

DA can't force a team to want him. And even if he's been called he's not going to take the first offer. I have a feeling the Rondo trade may be part of a Green trade. They needed to move Rondo on that day so they could use the players they got in that trade with Green.

I think this could be the plan and Green knows it and is why he's playing the way he is. He's playing to stay in shape, but doesn't go hard enough to get hurt, and doesn't care if they win. He's completely different than from a month ago. So something is up.

If it's the Clips that have proposed a deal. I really hope it's Jordan coming back. It's the only thing that they might give up that DA would take for Green. I think thats why DA got Zeller and Wright, to send back a Center to replace him. Out side of Jordan and Griffen theres nothing, and I don't think Griffen will be up. We might have to give up Sully as well, but that would be just fine. Plus they kinda owe us for blowing that Doc/KG trade for Jordan a couple seasons ago. :D

But we'll probably end up with Turkoglu and Big Baby......

His lineups do not always indicate that.

They're still here because of leverage. You wait until the deadline because:

*they can be packaged with more players at that point
*Teams might have some injuries & needs (a lot changes in this league daily)
*Value is higher at that point (desperation for change)

And developing players right. To many young players come in and get heavy minutes and they get hammered by the competition to the point they loose confidence. Then they become junk. Young still is only 19 and has to grow into his body, KO is almost there and Smart looks better right now coming off the bench.

Plus I'm a big believer in earning your spot. I'm sure Stevens is too. You want the starting spot, you have to out play the guy in your position for it. It's how players get better. If you just give it to them, they stop working hard and never improve. I think KO is close to taking Sully's spot, Young is no wheres close to being better than Green right now, and Turner and Bradley are out playing Smart on most nights. But I do believe Smart will be a starter by next season unless we get an amazing guard in trade or draft.

I understand that aspect and agree that players should earn mins. but next time I see jameer nelson dribble over half-court and chuck a contested 3 just past the half-court line with 20 sec's. left on the shot-clock, i'll assume marcus smart must be a bust then.

Green is extremely overrated as the Celtics will be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for him. Play the kids and get this waste of space out of Boston please.

Yeah,  feel pretty comfortable saying we're not getting DeAndre Jordan. I should be close to untouchable unless the Clips are getting an all star in his place.

I think Memphis would love to get him for a second rounder along  with a fair amount of other playoff teams.
