Anyone who watched the C's in the 90's knows what i'm talking about. All he needs are those crazy floaters and Tommy would be in love.

I don't think he's half bad. I don't get like that with players though. I'm more rational and will give Jameer his due respect.

Jameer actually is a pretty good player.  He just isn't our savior and fits that rebuilding mode.  We were bad when we had sherm too. Still liked Sherm.

Nelson wouldn't be a bad guy to have around to a contender. He has 10-12 effective minutes in him on a team that is all set-up and organized.

On the Celtics team he knows there is no future, there miles away from being a contender.

STill taking one for the team though.   I think guys like that get a bad rap sometimes when he's here and doing his job.

I loved Sherm Douglas.

Same here.  I don't get the Jameer comparison, though.

For some reason, I was thinking of this guy from The Nutty Professor when I saw your post title. His name is Sherman Klump. All I remember is his mom yelling "Sherman! Sherman! Sherman!" lol Not sure why I was thinking of this guy instead of the player...

I think it's pretty accurate. Both short stocky pgs.  Both lack a true role in the NBA.  Jameer Nelson and Sherman Douglas even their names are similar in that they have 2 first names and 4 syllables that could be first or last names..  Both pretty good players that can serve a role and put up some numbers on a bad team. Both are more scorers than pgs  but can do a variety of things and neither plays defense overly.

IF Jameer was playing in the 90's wouldn't surprise me if he was using a floater more due to his height.  Both pretty likeable players imo.

Jameer is atlantic 10 and played for St Joes.  Sherm was big east and Syracuse but both north east local college players.

Both played pg for the Celtics during some pretty down times.

Sherman douglas was a lot better than Nelson.
in terms of career stats they are not dramatically different, each leading a bit in different categories. nelson is cooked now, but at his peak he was a decent pg.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
