Do you think this team has enough to offer another team in a trade, should a franchise caliber player become available??
I feel like we lack a player on our roster that another team can sell to their fanbase after they send their most popular player out of town. We ran into this issue in the Minnesota fiasco with Kevin Love. Cleveland had the #1 pick which would turn into that player, Golden State had Klay Thompson. As soon as these two teams entered the discussion, our stock plummeted.
I know we have a treasure chest of draft picks, but we have no young established potential up and coming star on our roster yet. Our Al Jefferson, if you will. Marcus Smart can be that player, but he needs to turn a corner and show that hes gonna be player in this league first. I really think think any team that would be trading a potential franchise altering player, would look at our offer, and then some other team would jump in with a nice young established player to sell to their fan base and then a bunch of future #1s to go along with him, and then we'd be finished.
I think we're still STUCK big time until we get lucky in the draft or potentially overpay a FA to come before we're gonna make any kind of huge deal of note, we need a player that another team can sell to their fan base.
