Thanks for the feedback. I don't know much about the value of NBA draft picks. I know and am much more experienced with NFL picks so this helps. Ive seen others reply proposing a Jeff green for McDermott and dunleavey trade. Im all in favor. For future reference, how many second rounders would have to be packaged for a late first or is that possible? And could someone explain to me the value of nva picks compared to NFL picks?

Assume that first round picks are equivalent and that NBA second round picks are like NFL picks in the third or fourth round, sometimes later.  Packaging picks to get a higher pick usually doesn't happen until draft day in an attempt to move up to grab a specific player or to move down and snag your intended target at a cheaper price.

Is there any evidence that Chicago isn't enamored with McDermott?  It doesn't seem like very good value for the Bulls.

Welcome to the blog, btw.

Green for Dunleavy and McDermott

Sold.

I don't see the point in keeping Green past this season given the type of money he is going to command and how far away from challenging for a title the Celtics are. Getting a solid mid-first round pick in McDermott would be a good get for Green at this point in time.

I'd be happy with that.

Yeah, count me in as also satisfied with that trade. We get a cost-controlled sharp shooter with the potential to be much more and Chi gets a semi-star veteran who can slide anywhere into their line-up. He would actually be quite dynamic with the Bulls.

Ditto.  Just like if he went to Memphis, Green would absolutely thrive in Chicago as, what, the 4th option on offense?  His defense and athleticism would be a huge upgrade for Chicago at the small forward position, as well.  I don't like either of the players that we're getting back, lol, but at least Dunleavy is an expiring and Doug won't be playing for a while at the very least because of his knee surgery.  It was an arthroscopic procedure, right?  Man, that blows.  Fwiw, I never saw how McDermott would ever fit in in Chicago because of his severe defensive deficiencies.  How and why would he have ever gotten playing time on such a team, lol?  It just never made sense to be, and Doug will likely be even worse, defensively, when he returns.  Sushi in a car?  Oh boy! ::) ;D I'd still make the deal, though, if only to help the tank, haha.

Welcome to CelticsBlog, btw, and TP for the idea.  You haven't been here long and your first post is about moving Jeff Green?  Me likey, lol. ;D

I doubt Danny would trade Green until he finds a replacement. Just like he drafted Smart to replace Rondo.
