just for fun, sometimes it helps to actually have stats when comparing players.
schroder career ( 76 games, 17th pick)
pts 5.6
assts 2.5
fg% 42.9
ft% 72.9
3pt% 23.1
payton career ( 31 games, 10th pick)
pts 6.5
assts 5.1
fg% 39.3
ft% 45.7
3pt% 20
payton can pass better so far. but boy oh boy does his shooting need work. hack-a-payton will rule the 4th quarter in games.
Valid point. I'm actually very anti-stats since basketball is a team sport and I feel players always need to sacrifice for others. BUT, I will play along because I think it's more valid to compare Schroder's stats from THIS year since last year was a very productive year for Teague (less time for Schroder to shine).
PTS: 9.0
ASSTS: 3.5
FG: 47.2%
FT: 76.6%
3PT: 22.2% (actually has regressed from last season so far)
MIN: 18.7Meanwhile, Payton in about 3 more games this season than Dennis:
PTS: 6.5
ASSTS: 5.1
FG: 39.3%
FT: 45.7%
3PT: 20%
MIN: 24.8At this points it's apples and oranges. I guess when one compares these two players what matters more is what type of situation are they entering. Is it as a backup on a good team with great players like Dennis's situation, or as a starter some nights on a bad team in Elfrid's case.
