Certainly an odd decision. I really hope Stevens didn't just start him because it was his old team, that'd make me lose a lot of faith in his decision making.

Nelson was a plus 9 tonight with 11 assists and 4 steals.

He put some effort in against his former team.

I think it's just a temporary thing so Smart feels like he has to earn his minutes.

He does have to earn his minutes. He is too worried about running the offense that he isn't even thinking about attacking the basket. Until he is comfortable enough to run the offense yet still be aggressive then he shouldn't start.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I do think he's not comfortable running the offense yet. Thing is, we barely let him try. He's almost always on the floor with turner or pressy who end up distributing more than he does

CBS is crazy to start Nelson.   Unless he is instructed by Danny that he has to be showcased until the deadline

Jameer Nelson wore like a flowery shirt after the game. It was a little different.

I thought he was one of our best players tonight. They should start him until Smart plays well enough to take the job back

Agreed. Smart is a rookie who missed a good chunk of the season already due to injury and has not yet proven he can handle the PG spot in the NBA. He will be great imo, but he's not ready to be thrown in as the starting PG yet, let him develop and let a vet PG start for now since we have one.
