Maybe the most disturbing thing this season is that having a healthy Rondo back seems to make absolutely no difference.

So sick of watching Sully jack up 3's, Antoine 2.0

I think Stevens might encourage it.

I would love to see Sully concentrate more on the midrange game. Just ignores huge part of floor where he should be spending large amount of time in.

Haven't you heard?  Midrange shots are the least productive ones or whatever in the game today according to 'metrics,' lol ::).  Ugh.

I can't tell at this point if this game and against CHA that they think they are better so they don't have to play hard or if they just don't come to play. Coaching once again in question.

John Hollinger: I've gotten a lot of messages from Celtics fans wanting to trade Pierce. Here's the thing: Focus on who you can get, not who you can get rid of. The concept of getting rid of Pierce sounds nice until its the fourth quarter of your first game and you're running plays for Raef LaFrentz and Tony Allen because you traded your best scorer.

This is a Hollinger quote from 9 years ago. This current team is pretty much the team that he's describing.

How many of these guys deserve the C's jersey?
Hate to say this, but it is about time to get angry.

Agreed. But does the C's jersey, and all the history and responsibility that comes with being a Celtic mean anything to most of these players? I suspect not.

Terrible team, can't shoot, can't pass, don't defend...

Feel free to add on.

IMO roster in question big time.
This team, at least as tonight, even if it could make the playoffs, it should not. I do not want us to be humiliatingly swept with 30 point defeats...
I know rebuilding, development, all that stuff, but we need some good news to start coming. This is depressing for the fan base...

Yeah......I been trying to noodle out the same thing.the past 20 games .

I don't see how you can least toss some of the blame Stevens way .......the in consistent play whether it's  bad or good I suspect the coaching or lack there of.

Most likely ,  Stevens will get sick of losing and the first huge college offer from a major College program ...like NC , Duke ,or Kansas and he will bolt .

Pop ....is tuff son of a gun .....the players have to respect you .

What have we seen in these first 21 games?

1.  For all his greatness, Rondo is tragically flawed.  Both in his game and in his attitude.

2.  For all the talent he may appear to have, Jeff Green is never going to be more than the third best player on a good team.

3.  This read-and-react offense is a bad match for both Boston's talent and level of experience.

4.  Stevens either doesn't understand what NBA defense requires or doesn't emphasize it.

5.  Stevens doesn't yet have what it takes to motivate and lead a team at this level.

We need some bottom five draft picks.

Well...yeah....."Pierce was elite star talent.   Rondo is an assist man .....not a ISO scorer .

Only five men on the court .....And we don't have ANY elite Scorer to fall back on .    Green is close as we got .

This team just doesn't have the talent level ......to turn it on and put teams away ..

I wish there was a way to go before 2008 in the archives so I could grab a bunch of those "trade Pierce" threads and link them in the anti-Rondo threads.  I was looking the other day and couldn't figure out a way to do it.

The plus side is most of the threads from back then that we have access to are right when we won our championship and it feels GREAT to read them again and remember what it was like to win.  Here's hoping we put together another team like that in the next year or two.  Although, I'm opposed to rushing it if it isn't something along the lines of adding KG and Allen.  Something like Melo & Marc Gasol & a top 3 pick this year, although that ain't going to happen.
