Here's a 3team idea that lands Lance in BKLN:

Charlotte receives--
Deron Williams

Brooklyn receives--
Lance, Jeff Green, Bass, Pressey

Celts receive--
MKG, Garnett, Cody Zeller

Charlotte gets away from the failed Lance experiment, gets the best player in the deal.

Brooklyn gets a nice retool deal, easily as good as a return as possible for Deron & KG.

Celts improve upfront and roll the dice on MKG, which seems like a worthy risk in this case, if we can get away with keeping all our future picks.

We have 2 starter quality PGs in Rondo and Smart... so of course the suggestion is that we trade for a THIRD PG who makes 20m per season in Deron Williams.

This makes no sense.

As for Brook Lopez.  He would fill a need as an offensive center but he is injured all the time and he is no rim protector.

So basically there's nobody we want from Brooklyn except maybe Joe Johnson, and if we get him, we'd need to move probably Jeff Green, Avery Bradly, and Brandon Bass at a minimum to make the salaries work.  And this for a player who is currently 33 and going on 34.

No thanks.  We keep the draft picks and cap flexibility and hope Brooklyn tanks in the next 2 years.

TP, that's exactly how I feel.  The only trade I would do with them is one that makes their team worse and takes all their financial flexibility away until 2019.  I don't want any of their players except maybe Teletovic as a back up and I really want them to be bad.

Could Ainge publicly say "if anybody wants to trade with the Nets in the next few years, I'll most likely beat their offer unless it's really over the top?" to kill any moves the Nets could make?  Or is that tampering?

4 Team trade:

Detroit gets: Jeff Green, Vitor, Clips #1, 2016 pick from Charlotte

Brooklyn gets: Josh Smith, Lance Stephenson, Sixers #1 (two 2nds)

Boston gets:  Joe Johnson, Markel Brown, DET #1

Charlotte gets: Gerald Wallace, DET 2nd round pick

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

We get a really good pick from Detroit for Jeff Green and for taking on Joe Johnson's contract.

Brooklyn turns Johnson into two good players, each have a year longer on their deals than Johnson. Lance is a NY native so maybe they can sell that.

Charlotte gets Wallace back, who has a year shorter on his contract than Lance. They are basically giving up on Lance with this trade and cutting losses.

Detroit gives up a pick to get two lower picks, but the Charlotte pick in 2016 has a chance to be good. They upgrade at SF with Green over Smith.

Detroit says no.  They might finish the year with a worse record than Philly.  The clippers pick is basically a throwaway.  If we could get Detroit's pick somehow, I'm all for it.

Danny is not going to make a trade with the nets. They prob want their picks back. No thx. Just let them trade their big guns and we reap the rewards of top 10 , top 5 picks
