I'm hoping they dump and stink.  I DO NOT want deron williams anywhere near our team.  Lopez very good offensive center who is injury prone and JJ good but overpaid.  If JJ can play sg for us then I'm up for looking hard at him.  I am not going to bother looking at contracts but knowing JJ is paid a ton, wallace to make salaries work, a draft pick and AB.  They get a big expiring, young sg and future prospect.  We get an offensive go to guy, add good size to backcourt.
does that make sense?

It does to me. Though I'd play Green at the 2 and JJ at the 3. That's a heckuva lineup.

Rondo/Smart
Green/Smart/Turner
JJ/Turner/Green.
KO/Sully/Bass
Zeller/Sully

The Nets got themselves into a huge mess by signing Crash, Williams and Johnson to those contracts. Then they bet big on one more solid year of Pierce and KG and lost all their upcoming picks to us with a team trending down fast. They're trying to trade their way out of this mess they created for themselves, why on earth would we want to take that on? Even the better 2/3 of it? So we can get swept In the semi finals for two years and be right back where we are now? I get some people are sick of losing but a D Will or JJ in the twilight of their careers or a constantly injured C who doesn't rebound or defend well isn't going to vault us into contention. Thank god Ainge is in charge

I mentioned this trade idea in the other thread about the Brooklyn 3 being up for sale.

A 3 way with Detroit.

Celts get - Deron and Lopez
Detroit gets - Bass, Thornton and a 2nd rounder from the C's
Nets get - Rondo, Josh Smith, Tyler Zeller and their 2016 1st rounder back

Wow give up rondo, zeller, bass, Thornton and a first rounder and second round pick for Lopez and deron?

What about Thornton and Bass for Josh Smith and Datome?

They get a salary dump so they can pay Monroe this summer. We free up minutes at the 2/3 by moving Thornton. Green plays more at the 3. Smith takes any minutes Bass and Green were getting at the 4.

This seems to sum up the Nets right now and how we can be optimistic about those future picks...

I kinda the Celts make out pretty good.

Then, they would just need to find a back-up center just in case Lopez gets injured, but I like this lineup.

PG-DWill/Smart
SG-Bradley/Turner
SF-Green
PF-Sully/Olynyk
C-Lopez/???

If the Celts don't plan on keeping Rondo, then this certainly fits the bill of getting something for nothing.

As for the Nets pick, chances are it's going to be in 10-15 range anyway.

Personal opinion, but picking after the top 8 doesn't really do it for me.

Lopez has missed five games this year and it is early.   He played 17 games last year, 74 the year before that, and five the year before that.   He is completely unreliable in terms of his health.

There is NO WAY that I let Zeller go at this point.  He is improving before our eyes and costs us a measly $1.7 million this year.

This would be an awful deal for so many reasons. Talentwise and financially.

We are not winning the tank war this year just too many bad teams. At best C's get like a 8th pick so why not do a short term improve. I'd like JJ for Wallace, AB, Fav and return 2017 nets swap rights. With Young in the future we don't need AB long term. JJ on a two year is better. This trade allows Nets to rebuild faster by having 2017 pick back in same year they clear a lot of cap. Trade also boost the lottery chances of the 2016 first it's a win win.

Team would be slightly improved and again the 2016 nets 1st will look absolutely great with JJ gone.
Rondo/Smart/Pressey
JJ/Thornton/Young
Green/Turner
Sully/Bass/Powell
Zeller/KO

still think my idea from the other thread is a pretty solid trade all around

Boston - Lopez, Williams
Detroit - Thornton
Brooklyn - Smith, Wallace, Bass, Faverani, Powell, Detroit 2016 1st (protected), LAC 2015 1st, lesser of BOS/BRK 2016
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
