Wow, the knicks are im amazingly bad shape. At least Amare and Bargs crazy contracts are coming off the books. I think everyone involved will be to prideful to admit it but melo needs to go and they need a ground floor rebuild. Maybe the two NY teams can trade problems.

NYK get D-Will, Lopez and Kirelinko

Nets get Melo, Barg, and JR Smith

Its a lateral move for both teams but the change may end up being a positive. Obviously both will have to make additional moves to balance their rosters.

Melo and Dalembert for Green, Sullinger, Wallace, and however many picks it takes. ;D

Moves will happen at the deadline.  Anthony could be the one actually gone imo
WHen Anthony extended, it was a little weird.  He almost made it sound like he was just taking the money and they would find him a new home later.  I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him traded.

Melo is a winner. No surprise he's frustrated in NYK where he has one of the worst supporting casts of his career. If Danny has a chance to get him, he should go for it.

How can you want a punk like this on the Celts?

Im going to beat you up? Losing his cool vs KG was pathetic also. The guy might be a talented player but is immature lacks character and leadership.

Why do you want BS and the rest of the team to deal with a guy like this?? Is all you care about is flashy skills?

I dont even want to trade Rondo to the Knicks if that was our last resort.

You mean after KG told Melo his wife tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios? I don't know if that's true or not but you're a bit naive if you think KG was speaking to him politely. It was a close game and they were two top teams at the time. I'd rather have a player who is fiery and shows passion on the court than one who lets KG walk all over him.

My guess is that you're subconsciously opposed to acquiring Melo because it means Rondo is here for the long-term.

Can we give them KO and throw in an extra pick than we would have otherwise to keep Sully?

Rondo/Smart/Melo/Sully/Dalembert. Dang.

Quote
The New York Knicks were en route to their fifth straight loss last week against Brooklyn when a frustrated Tim Hardaway Jr. screamed angrily, "Get the rebound!"

Certain his second-year teammate was speaking to him, Carmelo Anthony approached Hardaway on the way down the court and used an expletive to ask Hardaway who in the world he thought he was talking to.

Anthony, according to sources, used another expletive in telling Hardaway he was going to beat him up when they got into the locker room after the game. While the two players never wound up fighting, the episode was emblematic of the volatile state of the Knicks.

Yeah, that be a pretty sweet lineup!!

If I am Rondo, I call up Ainge and tell him "If Melo is available, do what it takes to get him!!"

I think having a scorer like Melo would make life alot easier for Rondo.

Melo is so talented , his pay reflects his skills and potential every game ......

He is just so LAZY  ...IMHO .......he only tries when the mood strikes .

He is just clocking in everyday as a player ...nothing more .

He realizes his team sucks .....therefore he isn't going to waste energy or risk health to win games .

That's fine if your in his shoes

But for the paying Knick faithful ......watching a half hearted effort most nights has to be frustrated

Melo as become accustomed to losing ....I think he is fine with  just the money and nothing else,

One of the biggest wastes of talent in pro sports history .

It would indeed be much better to have a talented player who handled adversity with a positive attitude and professionalism.

Even when, purely as a hypothetical, said talented player was benched during a fourth quarter run...but rooted for his replacement and cheered his teammates on.

I suppose we can dream.

KO fits the triangle perfectly. They might go for him rather than Sully, but I'm sure they would want Thornton's or Bass' expiring rather than Wallace.

If a top ten talent like Melo is available, you've got to get him. That's what we've been saving our pennies for.

The Knicks are not trading Melo.

NY's whole cap is about to reset with Melo locked up at a reasonable rate (when considering increases). If anything, they shut Melo down for the season, showcase Smith so he pads his stats and opts out, then go into next offseason with the ability to add two max players and a high lottery pick.
