Washington already has arguably the best big man rotation in the league.
It'd be a pretty poor argument, but you can argue about anything I guess.
All right, well then let's hear your alleged strong argument against it. No need for drive-by
disses on people's opinions, at least tell people why you think their opinion is wrong or stupid.
Since when is saying I disagree a "drive-by" its not like you laid out a detailed case prior to the above post. No reason to be overly sensitive when someone disagrees.
Gortat is on the very short, almost non-existent list of good two-way Centers in the league right now. Nene hasn't shown any signs of slowing down in past years, he's still top 10-11 among PFs. They are the biggest reason for WAS being 5th in DRTG and 8th in DRB%, keeping them with the 2nd best record in the East all season long. Throw in Humphries and Seraphin who are extrememly solid, and Gooden/Blair as reserves. Adding KG simply doesn't improve their rotation much, all it does is give them a better injury replacement on the 3rd string (and I don't think that's nearly enough to make a trade).
Then all you've got is the Hawks who have nobody behind Horford/Milsap, Memphis who has nobody behind Randolph/Gasol, and Dallas who doesn't have much behind Dirk/Chandler (Brandon Wright is serviceable).
Nene hasn't been good this year and has been hurt off and on as always. He's no longer the offensive force he used to be and defensively he's good but not great. His rebounding has been sub-par for the past two years, approaching Brandon Bass levels.
Golden State, Memphis, New Orleans, Dallas, San Antonio, Chicago, LAC, Portland all have better big men rotations in my view even if Nene recovers his form. You could throw in Pacers, Raptors as being on par with the Wizards as well given how poorly Nene has played.
Specifically I think you should check out Kosta Koufus/Jon Leur in Memphis, they've played every bit as well as the Washington backups and Gasol/Randolph are far better than Nene/Gortat
Edit: They've played better, both are rebounding at solid levels and their TS% is far superior with superior defense as a team.
Washington is tied for the second best record in the east because they've played the one of the easiest schedules in the entire league. Some have said the easiest depending on how you weight back to backs and other game density issues.
I think what you meant to say is there's basically 25 poor arguments around the league for best big rotation, and then Washington in the argument with 3-4 other teams.
I meant exactly what I said, no need to paraphrase for me.
The Wizards are closer to the middle of big men rotations than the top of the league. I don't think you can make a good argument for their big men being tops of the league. Neither of their starters is all-star caliber and their bench is good but not game changing. They're somewhere in the range of 6 - 15 depending on Nene and your point of view of their defensive work, just not enough to put them in the conversation with MVP candidates and all-stars who lead other rotations.
