Or Smart could work his value up to land us a Carmelo Anthony or Roy Hibbert ?

get  out here man. Smart is the future.

I like him a lot too , but we still couldn't run the offense through him to close out the game . He isn't at that level yet, not to say he can't get here. For now he will be an awesome presence off the bench . Rondo is still a top level PG , and better at running the offense .

Smart didn't get the call from BS to take the shots.  I wish they would of given it to him at times.

That rebound out of nowhere was amazing.  The boxouts on Gortat was amazing . I mean what guard can even do that

Rondo. Lol.

Being a rookie with so much to learn, and getting more and more responsibility from his team, I don't think Smart has come close to his rebounding potential. That's going to be ice cream.

Seeing Rondo rebound like he does, is a positive thing for him.

Rondo gets rebounds in open space, but he doesn't have the strength to stop Gortat dead in his tracks like Smart did. After all Smart has about 50 lbs on Rondo.

You think Smart is a lightweight in the rebounding department?

umm Rondo , who averages almost 8 RPG?

That was an awesome box out though .

you think smart is a lightweight in the Rebounding department?

Listen i know your huge Rondo fan.  He is older and still not 100 percent healthwise. May never be. Signing him to a 4 or 5 year deal near max is going to return is , what 2 years of whatever max he is capable of. Then Smart is going to outhustle, out play etc.   (if he isn't already)

Smart is the future. There is no way around this really.

He's not saying smart is a lightweight in the Rebounding department, nowhere in his post says anything like that. He is just answering the question "I mean, what guard can even do that?" So please back of and dont get to defensive.

I've watched Rondo get a lot of rebounds but I've never seen him successfully block out a center.

I find it hard to believe that a PG can average close to five boards over the course of his career and have all of them come in open space. I can recall a number of Rondo rebounds in which he's been within point blank distance of a big man and either out-jumped, out-"lengthed," out-"big hands-ed," etc. the opposing center to grab the rebound. True, Rondo cannot box out an NBA center, but this is a really petty point. Neither Smart nor Rondo will be situations to even do so often enough for that point to have any relevance.

Thank you good sir. TP for being a funny, smart fellow who doesn't have enough TPs. I think you'll like the thread I'm about to start.

Every year there are 6-7 teams with a lower winning percentage than our current record. I think we've gotten so used to ignoring the bottom feeders since 2008 that we've forgotten how bad some teams are.

Smart and Top 5 protected 1st for McLemore

Offer Bradley, Wallace, and Olynyk for a true Center and backup G. (Ex. Pekovic and MoWilliams for Wallace, Oly and picks?)

Rondo, McLemore, Green, Sully, Pen
MoWill, Bradley, Turner, Bass, Zeller
SOLID. IMO
Can't stop, Rondo!

I hope to goodness you are joking.  You do realize that McLemore has under a +10 PER, right??  You do realize that after Smart's +28 game tonight, he might have as high a PER as Ben McLemore tomorrow?  Yet you are willing to give up Smart and a first rounder for McLemore???    Wow.

McLemore needs a PG to get him looks. Darren Collison is not it. Rondo makes other players better. Put him with a pure shooter and better results would come. We all know PER is not the defining stat , especially for a player on a bad team.

Yes, losing the game with Rondo plaing would have been much better. I likely would not have had to sit through 2 overtimes.

It is a tall order to downgrade our roster. Congratulations, you managed.
