How would you feel about giving $15M a year to Jimmy Butler?

Not sure about that.

I must say the last few games, I've been impressed with Bradley's offense.

If he can continue to knock down 3's and jump shots, then I think that contract he got (which at first I hated) might have been a smart move.

He has been off and on, not exactly a model of consistent play.

To soon.

Lets see if he keeps it up all season.  And it still screams "contract year bump"

I think I agree with you, but his trajectory this year is looking a lot like Paul George's last year. He is a couple years older, of course.

The reason I bring him up is that the Bulls can't afford to match a max offer, whereas the incumbent clubs are likely to resign the other top free agents (aldridge, love, gaol, etc)

I am just trying to latch onto something positive in an otherwise abysmal season.

For example, I was quite impressed with Sully's late 3 pointers yesterday in overtime.

Obviously comparing him to Love is a stretch but maybe he ends becoming a pretty good 3 point shooter.

I was honestly torn between Randle and Smart, out of fear that not taking Randle could come back to haunt us one day, and that may still happen.  It's terrible that he's out for the rest of the year.

All of that aside, we had two older hall of famers, and we traded them for crap, when what we should have done was to keep KG and Pierce, which means that our two picks would have been mid first round, allowing us to get James Young, KJ McDaniels, and perhaps we could have traded Sully for Randle or McGary.  Wouldn't you rather have KG, Pierce, Rondo, Young, and McDaniels, instead of Smart, Rondo, Young, KO, and Green?  I know I would, but Ainge completely and utterly blew it.  Sigh.

He has improved in this area, shooting better than last year but it is not his strong point.  Guy should be working on endurance and footspeed every waking moment.  He has talent on offensive end, justs need to get in better shape and play better D.

Can he also work on post moves, in addition to defense, instead of shooting threes?  That would certainly be my preference.

But we only would have had one pick since the BKN trade never would have happened. We can assume we may have gotten Young, but no McDaniels or McGary

Also, we would not have firsts in 2016 and 2018 (and option to trade picks in 2017 - this is totally working for Atl this year, btw). Whether or not you thought the deal was in bad taste, we still made out pretty well when our future was only going to be average. To be fair, though, we did have to take on three years of Wallace (but they took on two years of Terry).

What's the attraction of keeping PP and KG? Nostalgia? And why is Green in one list and not the other?

So...?

Would GREG MONROE become a star on the Celtics ?

Would being the man , with lots of touches and playing time elevate his game to All Star Level?

They should have retired here.  Period.  You will never get equal value for legends, no matter how many draft picks you get in return.  I guess that Danny missed the seminar on how the Celtic tradition was built on loyalty.  Sigh.

As for Green, the reason why he's not on both lists is because I think that we could have traded him for someone, or something, like a draft pick, but I don't know who that would have been.

if we kept PP and KG , we are a 45 win team for 3 years , and then are left with nothing when they retire , and a pick in the 15 -25 range in each of the seasons we had them .

Instead we got
pick # 6 (Smart)
likely a top 10 pick in 2015
Brooklyn 2014 pick( Young)
Brooklyn 2016 pick( possible lottery)
Brooklyn 2017 pick(ability to swap)
Brooklyn 2018 pick( possible lottery)

seems like a logical move when you take emotion away from it ...
