Who?

Steven Bochco. Creator of Hill Street Blues, and NYPD Blue. In each of these shows, a nice guy character who never crosses the line (Henry Goldblum in HSB, Greg Medavoy in NYPDB) reaches a boiling point, and crosses way over that legal line, brutalizing some scummy perp to prevent him from screwing around with an innocent citizen. This is a recurring theme in Bochco dramas.

Tonight, Kelly Olynyk had his Steven Bochco moment. Take my starting spot away? Well, I'm taking that out on you, Greg Monroe, you, Andre Drummond, you, Brandon Jennings.

(And sending a message to you, Brad Stevens and Ty Zeller).

This is a glimpse of what we were hoping to see from KO, and I hope we see more of it. It's early, but I have a feeling that taking him out of the starting lineup might have been the perfect motivational strategy for Kelly. Bravo Stevens, if so....

I keep comparing KO to TV characters (In one recent post, Piper Chapman). Funny what that says about me.....

Just wish Stevens didn't put him in the cooler in the 4th...Still can't figure out why he was sat down, while he was DOMINATING the game...He was even playing passable post defense.

Glad he played well but we will see if it lasts.   Anything he gives up on O is nuetralized by his D.   He scored 20 but both the Pistons bigs got more than 27.  We won tonight but hardly a long term recipe for success.
