At this point I'd welcome a Rondo trade simply so I wouldn't have to read the same tired comments over and over again.

I will, however, go out on a limb and suggest that trading Rondo won't make the team better, regardless of whether you define better as making the playoffs or if you want the team to take another trip to the lottery.

Maybe this is a cop out, but in his first full year back from injury, and in a contract year, he shouldn't push it. Maybe if this was a playoff caliber team he would put in more effort on D

Haha I mean it was a borderline NBA player not too long ago having a decent game, but by no means was he obliterating Rondo. Rondo actually played excellent defense the first three quarters of this game.

It's obvious if Rondo is traded, then it means that the Celtics are going for a long rebuild.

Well, lackadaisical implies that he's not caring (as in, it's part of the word's definition), when GratefulC's is postulating that he's holding back because he doesn't want to hurt himself in a contract year -- which would mean that there's certainly some caring going on.

Schroeder made six field goals. Rondo was the primary defender on him of three. And of the three, the only one Rondo made a mistake on was when he fell asleep on a back door cut off a hand-off. On the other two, Schroeder made a difficult fade and on the other, Rondo ICEd a PnR and Olynyk hung back but then fouled Schroeder as he made the shot.

Rondo's been bad in front of the ball in pretty much every game, but he was hardly the problem today.

FWIW, 10 of the 15 were scored in the 4th quarter with Rondo on him most of the time. Rondo did go out for like 1:40 but Rondo had his troubles defending the quicker Schroeder. Maybe obliterating is a bit strong but you could absolutely make the argument he was the more effective PG in the 4th quarter specifically.
