Maybe this is a cop out, but in his first full year back from injury, and in a contract year, he shouldn't push it. Maybe if this was a playoff caliber team he would put in more effort on D

We all know he turns it up when it matters

I know, I know.... All the games matter

But if I was in his shoes,I wouldn't push it either.  Too much money on the line
So most of the injury prone players throughout the league are the guys who try harder than than the other players?  I don't think so.

The trade deadline can't come soon enough.  One of two options hopefully happens

1) (i'm hoping) - Trade Rondo, Let BS have 100 full control of building this team moving fwd.  Trade multiple picks to move up in the upcoming draft.

2) Attempt to become the next Brooklyn nets.  Trade Sully, KO, Thornton, Green most of our picks to grab a rim protector, and closers. Guys able to run around screens all day and all night, receive Rondo's passes and make the jump shot.   1 on 1 players able to score in crunch time

If #2 happens, what was the point to hire BS for the long run??
The dumbest thing Danny can do is let this unit and Rondo (incompatible)  stay together. Even if we get to draft Okafor or Towns next season, it won't be until 2 or 3 seasons later before they start becoming good.

Not saying that

All I'm saying is that it's not out of the realm of possibility for rondo to re injure his knee

Contract year on a bad team

He's not going to push it too hard throughout the year risking re injury. It's not worth it. Teams know who rondo is and he'll be paid accordingly

Even on good teams he learned to coast through the regular season

I trust Danny Ainge

The point of hiring Brad was because it was smart. We'd just traded KG and Paul. Rondo was slated to miss a big chunk of time. We were clearly a lottery team to anyone paying attention - no veteran coaches were going to sign up for that unless they were getting significant roster control like Stan Van Gundy. We were going to hire a first timer whether it was Brett Brown, Brian Shaw or someone else. It was the perfect time to hire a guy with a record of overachieving with an underdog roster?

C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I have a problem investing heavy money on a soon to be 29 year-old. If he's allowing dribble penetration now, what will he look at on a 5 year deal between the ages of 29-34?

All point guards allow dribble penetration.

Just like all point guards miss free throws...Rondo at a a higher rate than others in both though.

Ok, so how high is Rondo's rate of allowing dribble penetration, and how does it compare to other point guards?

Rondo can't shoot, and he can't defend.

He can pass and rebound.

I told you a couple of years ago that the guy wouldn't make another all-star team and you scoffed. Still feel confident? In fact, I would add that he's made his last all defensive team too.

Maybe he should position his ... Muleta (google'd that)... so that it's facing the sidelines.

Maybe opposing guards will just dribble out of bounds each and every possession.
