Knowing everything that we do, pretty clear that the ideal world of the Celtics brass involves keeping Rondo. It's obvious now that there's no intense desire to be rid of him, as some have suggested.
Just to play devil's advocate though, would they be aggressively and publicly shopping Rondo while his trade value continues to climb? I have to think the best course of action would be make Rondo as comfortable as possible as he re-asserts himself as a league-wide must-have. Start listening to offers around December and if nothing particularly overwhelming comes in by the deadline, take your chances re-signing him in the summer.
