At least this dispels the thought that Rondo made this decision himself and decided not to share it with Stevens (like some believed).
Or that Rondo did this as a protest because he spent a chunk of the 4th quarter on the bench against Indiana. Yes, that was an actual theory posted.
Yeah I seen that theory...lol. When it comes to Rondo, around here, nothing is ever simple. There's always some grand reason or theory..lol.
Yes, that was my theory that I posted as soon as I heard about the screw getting removed. Honestly, this only reaffirms my belief.
Based on this it says Rondo wanted to take it out during the All-Star break. So what happened that made him, or Ainge change his mind? It was undoubtedly related to his play against the Pacers, getting yanked after a horrible turnover and not getting back in until 3 minutes to go in the 4th.
Either Rondo was disgusted with himself and is using the screw getting removed/soreness as his excuse for his sloppy play, or Ainge/Stevens is disgusted with his sloppy play and is hoping this is the reason.
Either way, the screw is getting removed far ahead of schedule, and it was determined right after the Pacers game, a game that Phil Pressy, our 3rd string PG, won for us. To try to claim the Pacers game is unrelated to this decision just means you aren't looking deep enough, or your tin foil hat isn't on tight enough.
