  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Kevin Durant Field goal attempts per game 2013-14 season: 20.8 per game
Carmelo Anthony Field goal attempts per game 2013-14: 21.3 per game
Lebron James field goal attempts per game 2013-14: 19 per game

Kobe Bryant vs Phoenix Suns 11/05/14: 37 field goal attempts at 37.5% percent and 39 points.
lol.
They are looking like a serious Philadelphia threat to the top pick this year.
I think they are battling it out with the Bucks for the caveat of 2nd worst team in the league.
They are just terrible and Kobe is killing them with his shooting.
Tonight he was 8-24 or 33% through the first three quarters.
He then managed to take another 13 shots in the 4th quarter and shot 37.5% overall for the game ;D
Did anyone watch this game?
The Lakers are seriously a bottom four team to me, without a doubt.
Kobe does not like sharing the spotlight with Lin. He won't even LOOK at some of his team mates.
He was basically dribbling down, giving dribble hands off, going back and getting the ball, and then throwing up a fading, falling fadeaway or leaning runner- he did this so many times it was embarrassing.
Their offense is completely stagnant and it's because of Kobe's ego.

Poor Lakers fans are stuck with this guy and all his salary for quite a while still.
All I can say is: SUCK IT LAKERS!
I hope they go through some pain for a while for all the good luck they've had over the last 15 years with their warm weather and hollywood fans.
Looks like it's started because Julius Randle apparently just announced his injury is season ending.

What word is 7 letters long that starts with 'L' and ends in 'ERS' and stands for terrible?

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I watched the first three quarters. Kobe appeared surprised by the fact Marcus Morris started out the game guarding him and so attempted to be the facilitator as he appeared bothered by Morris' length. Once Morris came out at the end of the first, Kobe was guarded by PJ Tucker and went full Kobe through the 2nd and 3rd quarters, having some success against the slower, shorter, less long Tucker for a lot of that time. I missed the 4th quarter but Kobe did look like he tried to get people involved for the first quarter but there after, he was a massive chucker with little regard for his team mates on offense.

Seems like 2006 redux for Kobe.  It's like Chucker Heaven for him.

...btw not to nitpick but it's their 5th straight loss.

Some facts:
-Jordan's career scoring total: 32,292
-Kobe's career scoring total: 31,838
-Betting odds for the Lakers Lakers winning an NBA title: 500/1

Mystery for the ages, here.

Pretty much.

You don't hire Byron Scott to win games.

I didn't watch the game but I checked out the box score. 37 shots, 1 assist. I thought that must be a record, but MJ once had a game of 49 shots and 1 assist. Yowzers!

As much as I would like to bask on the awesomeness of the Lakers misery, it's too short sighted. I hope they improve a lot so that they lose their 2015 draft pick as opposed to having a top 5 one.

Just last year Carmelo had 62 pts (on 35 shots) and no assists (no turnovers either).

In his defense -- who else was he going to pass to?

Yeah, I have no problem with him being a chucker in this team. He's missing Swaggy P obviously... which isn't much of anything, but at least a shooter they desperately need.

Question: Hypothetically if the Lakers end up with the third worst overall record but because the draft lottery has the teams with the 4th, 5th, and 7th worst records winning the top three spots and the Lakers end up selecting 6th, do they lose their pick to Phoenix?

Yes.  It's where the pick winds up, not what their regular season rank was.

I was talking about Anthony, actually. Same situation, though.

That's what I thought. So as long as the Lakers do not finish with the worst or 2nd to worst record in the league, whether they keep that pick is most likely going to be determined by the luck of the lottery draw not where they finish in the pre-lottery standings.
