Why would Jazz so that again...?
This.
22 year old lottery center with great physical tools who's polished on offense with several years of NBA experience.
It's going to take at least a bit more than a late first.
And I'd be willing to give up a bit more than a late first, because he's a center with potential, but also partly because we have such a mismatch in talent and can afford to play.
Guys like Thornton and Green would be appreciated by a contender like Charlotte, who can entice Utah with the picks and/or young players in a three team trade. AB is an interesting chip for Utah.
yes, indeed, IMO charlotte is one of the teams that might want some of our vets. though in such a situation we could just ask for vonleh instead of kanter.
Vonleh will cost a lot more than the Clips pick + Bass. I'd throw in James Young and the Cavs pick too before they'd even pick up the phone.
Exactly.
Kanter is available, Vonleh is not.
Charlotte has Biyombo and Jeff Taylor who may spark some interest for Utah (hopefully).
Pass.
Why would we need another big that cant protect the rim? We have like, what, 5 of them already? Why waste a pick on something we have plenty?
Because Kanter has the potential. Stevens will help, though I don't think he'll ever capitalize on much of it.
A 7 foot bull will at least be far more imposing than Mr. "6'9 Jellybelly" and the lanky kid with hair when non-defending opponents. (Don't get me wrong, I love my Sullynyk and think we can keep both. It's all fun and games.)
I think Kanter will at least be able to provide some resistance against the likes of Howard with his body. Good team defense will be icing.
